3rd Trimester

Can't wait

Can't wait to have all these symptoms over with and have my baby out here and for me to have normal hormones again

Re: Can't wait

  • I felt the same way with each of my pregnancies. Until the baby came. Then my hormones were even WORSE. Keep that baby in as long as you can!

Have you heard about the "baby blues"?  It is fairly common in the first couple weeks and new moms tend to cry a lot over the stupidest things because of their hormones. Some people have problems that go beyond just normal baby blues (I did with both kids) but that's a whole different issue.

I was sort of trying to be funny about your post because people always think things will be better/easier once the baby comes compared to being pregnant but I strongly disagree with that!

  • My post partum anxiety hit its peak when DD was about 6 weeks old and I had to get on medication. I was a hot mess for a couple months. Not everyone is that way so I don't mean to make you panic.
  • With each pregnancy my most hormonal times were after baby. I was so emotional and weepy when my milk came in! It didn't last long but I was a crying mess!
  • Even if your hormones do fine there's a whole lot that comes into play that may have never even crossed your mind (especially for ftm's). Life gets real. My mom always said (and still does) "Don't try to rush that baby out. They're A LOT easier to take care of in your belly than they are out!" The only reason I remember this is because of how true it is. I'm having my 6th and it doesn't get any easier. You get a routine and get adjusted but they're children- they're going to throw a few curve balls every now and then. :)

  • Yeah hormones can go really crazy after the baby.  I'm not looking forward to how I feel once baby is out so I'm glad they are still stewing away in there.
  • I have major anxiety now and everyone is saying it will calm after the pregnancy and now I'm just confused :(

I understand, but your hormones might not be "normal" for 6 months to a year after birth. :-??

  • Mine took two years to even out. I wasn't anxious, just really weepy, and my metabolism slowed so it was nearly impossible to lose the weight. And I cried a lot, but that might have been the sleep deprivation too, lol.
It evened out eventually though and was fine!

Sleep deprivation puts you on a serious rolls coaster of emotions that are crazy. The first few months after baby are always difficult emotionally.
