Feels like I was punched on my pelvic bone

Last weekend i walked 3 miles in a charity walk and since then I've felt like someone hit me between the legs with a baseball bat.. feels like bruise but it worsens with standing up and walking. My nurse said its probably the baby's head nestled down low, sitting on my cervix.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Icing it helps a little, any other remedies that work?

  • Sounds like it could be Pelvic Girdle Pain. Mine is aggravated by walking. Look it up and see if that resonates with you! If that's what it is, resting is really the only thing to help you recover, but there are a lot of preventative measures to take so you can avoid aggravating it further! Hope you start to feel better!

  • Welcome to pelvic girdle pain :) by the end of the day it's pretty miserable. Once I get home from work I lay down on my side for awhile and that helps, also a nice bath. I also use my birth ball for at least 30 min daily to help stretch and relax everything. I've had it for the last month and it doesn't go away but it's manageable. 
  • Seconding others, sounds like SPD!
  • Definitely sounds like SPD to me too. I have it myself and its aggravated by walking. Rest and learning and avoiding the triggers is the only things that's helped.
  • I agree with the others on SPD.   I have it, and it's no joke.
    If you purchase a maternity belt like the one in the link below, it will make you feel so much better.  It wraps around the hips and squeezes, so there is not so much downward pressure.  
    Another tip for some relief in a pinch is to squeeze your vaginal and... "other" muscles together, as though you are trying to hold in a BM.  Hope this helps.
