well I had my first OB visit this afternoon, she is booking me to get an ultrasound to see the baby's blood flow (or something along those lines) due to my high blood pressure in a previous pregnancy. She said they don't totally understand why we get high blood pressure but they believe it may be because of the placenta.
Has anyone had anything like this? I'm not concerned, just very interested. She said it has to be done by a specialist (she is a high risk OB and will be doing it herself) so not typically done unless requested at the 20 week US (which I guess my Dr didn't realize so now I get another one)
She also told me to take a baby aspirin everyday in an effort to prevent the high blood pressure. Wish my Dr would have referred me earlier!
Re: Ultrasound to see blood flow?
Again, not sure if your testing is the same thing or completely different but I'm glad that you are getting the care and testing you and your LO seem to need now. Hopefully everything turns out well and whatever testing they do has a positive outcome. I know how scary it can be to have to wait for the testing and results but I've made it to 31 weeks despite many complications so there is hope!
