  • I've been sleeping 10-13 hours a day if you're tired sleep
  • I feel like I could sleep all day too. I did rest and do nothing today in bed And actually feel the most rested I have in a while. If your body needs sleep then sleep!
  • For the past week I've been sleeping 12+ hrs and still feel like I need naps throughout the day! The exhaustion just hit me one day and it hasn't let up since.

  • Your body is using a lot of energy growing a baby right now! Rest when you can, the exhaustion usually lightens up in 2nd tri.
  • I agree with @katykatykaty and @mels823. If you can sleep a little extra now, do it!
  • I've been in bed all day. I literally never do that; I'm usually up by 7:30 on the weekends. My husband is actually loving it because he's used to me jumping out of bed before he's even up. Being pregnant is tiring!

  • I've definitely got the first-tri tireds, too. Thankfully, my kid's in preschool, so I can sleep while he's in school and trade naps with the husband over the weekend. :)

Sleeping a ton and then needing a nap is totally normal, thankfully!

  • I'm a high school teacher, so during the week I'm out of bed by 5. Sometimes earlier if I have stuff to do. I'm in bed by like 8, and lay around all weekend just trying to catch up on my rest. Needless to say, I'm mortally exhausted most of the time, but my students have been pretty great so far...considering they're teenagers.
  • Oh I remember all of the sleeping with DS. He's almost 1 now and just insanely busy which is SO fun and SO exhausting, pregnant or not. Enjoy the freedom to nap, if you are pregnant again with a second someday it will all be a memory!

I have extreme exhaustion WITH insomnia...how is that even possible?! All day I feel I can barely keep my eyes open, but when I try to sleep I toss and turn and wake up every hour or so
  • Don't feel bad about sleeping! If you're tired, go for it. No such thing as too much sleep for your bodies these days. I agree with the other STM PPs...enjoy it! :)
