When will reality hit me?!

I'm 10 wks and 3 days and I feel so bloated by the end of the day especially. And my boobs have gotten a tad bigger, but as I lie in bed I think about a baby being inside of me right now (first baby) and well it's tripping me out! It doesn't even feel real! When will reality set in I can't wait! :-?

Re: When will reality hit me?!

  • It became more real to me when I was able to start feeling the baby move around. :)

  • Ha I should note - with my previous pregnancy. Too early for baby movement over here.

    Definitely.

I forget about this LO a lot... it's tougher having a nearing-3-year-old, I just don't take pictures or talk about it like I did with DD. It definitely still doesn't feel real and I'm 14 weeks.

Ditto! I was taking weekly pictures with my first pregnancy and have definitely slacked with this one. Haha
  • I'm overweight so I can't see any bloating or any signs of a beginning bump, so it became real when I went for the ultra sound scan and I was able to see my baby move around. It still feels crazy surreal and I can't wait to meet baby! I haven't started taking pictures since I don't think my bump will appear for another 4-5 weeks

  • I'm having the same feelings as you. I've had ultrasounds and everything, yet I can't get it through my head that this is real. I also can't see or feel any bump because I too am overweight. My only indications are my symptoms. I think it'll only feel real when I feel true movement and can see a belly.
  • I'll feel much better once I feel him/her it's just so hard to wrap my head around this! Ha
  • When I saw the transvag ultrasound and then it really became real when I heard the heartbeat.
  • It got more real for me when I heard the heartbeat, and even more real at the first ultrasound. I imagine it'll feel very real when I get to feel the baby moving!
  • Having the ultrasound helped.  Plus it was our first true confirmation that everything was alright.  Clothes aren't fitting well anymore so that reminds me often.  I"m excited to feel baby moving around.  Last time I was 22 weeks before I felt the baby, hoping it's sooner this time around.

I'm in the same boat - 3rd pregnancy and 1st sticky one (FX). It hardly feels real minus my m/s and sore boobs. It hit me when I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time a few days ago. The ultrasounds were cool, but didn't feel real. Hearing it was very real and it was a very surreal moment. I'm sure once I feel movement in the next few weeks/month or so weeks that will make it even more "real" too.

Hang in there, you'll have your moment too!

    edit: can't type some days

  • I think it will likely feel more real for you when you start to get a real bump (not just bloat), and feel movement. It's harder to forget with those types of reminders!

  • I can definitely relate. This is my first pregnancy too. I'm at the point where I really have no symptoms and I'm not showing yet (except for the night-time
bloat), so I don't even feel pregnant most of the time. I'm hoping it'll all click for us once our bumps finally pop!
  • How far along are you ladies??
  • I'm 11 weeks today. I'm overweight too, so it's difficult to differentiate between baby belly and my belly. I've had one ultrasound but i still don't feel pregnant. However, my hair, nails and boobs look very pregnant.
  • I feel like since I work ob and see this process daily I really am not super into it. I know I'm pregnant and what could go wrong constantly. Seeing losses Even at 40 weeks, horrible births ,infections, genetic issues etc. it's all so much more common than people know !!!! I'm trying to be positive but after a loss of my own earlier in the year I won't accept or feel it's real until i have that baby in my arms. I wish I didn't know so much about it sometimes so I could almost naively enjoy the process a little more.
