Weekend plans?

Just wondering what everyone is up to this weekend?

My hubby, daughter and I were supposed to go away for a Chowderfest down the shore (nj) but Hurricane Joaquin had other plans. Now we're back to the drawing board. I'm thinking a crockpot meal (it's cold a rainy where I live) and a movie.

Anyone doing anything exciting?

I'm sick (full blown cold and I cant take any Nyquil- wahh). DH is sick. It's cold and rainy. I think the couch is where it's at this weekend. We were supposed to get together with DH parents and tell them the news but we rescheduled the other day due to the impending storm. Thank God, because I really just want sweatpants and an afghan all weekend.

Well...tomorrow I get the luxury of meeting my brothers' girlfriends' family...not looking forward to it. But we are going to a fall festival, which I love to go to every year. So I'm excited about that. And probably celebrating my dad's birthday.

Some of my coworkers are throwing a Southern Party tomorrow evening. Several of us grew up in the South and miss southern comfort food, so we get together once a year for a southern-themed potluck. We even order North Carolina pulled pork to be delivered! I'm responsible for bringing cornbread, shrimp and grits, and green beans.

We don't have specific plans for Sunday other than church-- it's blessing of the animals day-- but maybe we'll go pick apples?

Tonight is date night and DH is taking me to my favorite Thai place! So excited!

I think the rest of the weekend is pretty low key for us. I may try to catch up on some reading and will probably cook way too much food because that is what I do on the weekends haha!

Tomorrow morning when I'm home from work were telling stepson about his future sibling!! We wanted to wait til after our appointment Monday but we literally can't. Then my mom and I are taking stepson shopping for fall clothes and I'm sure he'll want to by all the baby things lol. The stupid hurricane kind of washed out all of our weekend plans but I'm hoping we can still make stepsons soccer game Sunday. I love watching him play and cheering him on.

I work my second job tonight and tomorrow. Going to see The Martian tomorrow night with DH. Sunday meeting up with a friend to discuss design changes for his website for a non profit (I figure it will boost my portfolio) And working on my friends baby's baptism photos. Then of course FOOTBALL!!! Lastly probably meal prep and house work.

DD has soccer practice tonight. Tomorrow probably take pics of my DD for our announcement (not announcing yet). Then soccer game. No other real plans. Sunday it's supposed to be in the 70s and raining!! We've been having 90+ degree weather for weeks and weeks. So hopefully it does rain and we'll stay in, cook, and watch football.

Tomorrow night is date night and we're celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary (actual anni is on Monday). We're having dinner at our favorite restaurant and going to see The Martian. Then Sunday I've got brunch plans with a friend and DH is watching football. After brunch I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing.

My sister and brother in law are in town tonight so we are going to my Mom's for pizza (and hiding the fact that I'm not drinking wine with them). It will be low key and I haven't seen my sister in almost two months so it will be great! Tomorrow morning DH and I are driving 3 hours to attend our 7th wedding of the year (it has been a busy summer and we only have one left after this one yay!). I will get to see my Dad and his family, so that will be another night where I have to hide that I'm not drinking. It will be a lot of fun though! Sunday we are driving back home and hopefully keeping it low key and watching football.

I'm going to a college football game tomorrow! We have season tickets and I love my team dearly, even though they're beyond terrible.

I'm going to try to convince DS to go to the movies with me tonight. For some reason, he's not into watching Hotel Transylvania. Tomorrow we're going to a Tomato Festival that our little town holds every year. I'm hoping to just chill on Sunday.

We were going to take our girls to a pumpkin patch tomorrow, but I'm so exhausted I don't even want to think about it. Tonight we are laying low and having pizza for dinner. I would be totally happy doing that tomorrow and Sunday, too.

Vegging at home tonight. Dropping our old car off at DH's dads house tomorrow then depending on how late it is, Octoberfest with my some fam. Then cleaning up house Sunday.

Honestly though I really wanted a chill day at home on Saturday and kinda want to skip Octoberfest, but my I haven't seen my dad in awhile and he put on the sad voice on the phone last night and I'll feel bad now if we don't go.

We are going to see one of the greatest movies of all time- The Iron Giant! It's playing in theaters this Sunday. I will most definitely bawl my eyes out.

I am being lazy tonight! Couch and TV with DH! Tomorrow I'm going outlet shopping and having a slumber party with my girlfriends. Girly movies, ice cream and all that fun stuff we used to do all the time when we were younger. Of course I will be sharing with them tomorrow because there is no way I can keep my mouth shut all night!

Edited because I wanted to add that everyone going to see The Martian report back and let us know how it is! I want to go see it!!

DH is helping some of our good friends move tomorrow morning. It's supposed to be pouring rain all weekend thanks to the hurricane. DD and I will stay home and I pretty much plan on holding down the couch all weekend. I'll drag myself off of it for church Sunday morning. I have zero energy! I'm so impressed by you ladies getting out. @ceeesprof your party sounds awesome! I live in NC and commend your choice of BBQ

We were supposed to tailgate and go to a college football game tomorrow but fleece pants and not leaving the house sounded like a more solid option. I'm having a hard time emotionally because I just love fall so much, but I'm psychologically and physically drained from feeling so crappy. The struggle. Maybe I can drag myself to a pumpkin patch?

We have a eye doctor's appointment, visit my ILs and we were scheduled to do our family photoshoot including our announcement tomorrow. My poor daughter has been sick with a fever for the past couple of days so we might have to reschedule.

@ceeesprof That sounds amazing! My maternal grandmother is from the south and I spent a year in NOLA and sorely miss the food from both.

SO threw his back out so I'll probably spend the weekend taking care of him (gets my mind off my own symptoms!), cleaning when I don't feel like I'll be sick, and doing little things to de-stress. I'm really into those gorgeous adult coloring books that have become so popular right now.

Tomorrow I'm going grocery shopping at the brand new Aldis in town (I hope it's as good as the next town over). Cooking, watching Auburn football (against my better judgement), and Sunday my aunt is coming over so I;ll be cooking.

We're in NJ too. Originally I had wanted to go apple picking, but it looks like that won't be happening. I'm actually kind of looking forward to using the excuse of crummy weather to make it a no makeup, stay in pjs all weekend kind of a weekend! I want to get the house back in order a little bit, and other than that I plan on spending a lot of bonding time with my couch. I can't wait for a cozy weekend at home!!!
