The dreaded yeast infection...

gotta love pregnancy and all the stuff happening to your body... Dr told me I had a yeast infection and I started the treatment and then started to spot, so I panicked and stopped. (I did two out of seven)... I asked the pharmacist if this could happen, he did a bunch of reading and said there was no coloration... Anyone have had this happen?

Re: The dreaded yeast infection...

  • I haven't had this happen during pregnancy--though I have had yeast infections and they are the bane of every women's existence!  good luck & hope you find some answer!

My OB insisted I do the seven day treatment. Is that typical? I didn't have any spotting with it.

Eta - Did you confirm with your Dr. That it was a yeast infection? A bacterial infection can cause spotting. I would call your Dr.
  • She did a swab and it came back positive for a yeast infection. So far I've tried again with the 7day treatment and no spotting this time!
  • Ugh I went through this. Had to do the old fashioned 7-day treatment! I kept forgetting and didn't do it perfectly. Probably 6 times in 9 days. But it seems to have cleared up. No spotting.
  • I 100% believe I have a yeast infection, but haven't gotten to talk to the Dr. about it yet. no advice on the spotting though. Glad it went better as you went through it!
  • Any luck with your yeast infection disappearing? I did a 7 day one went a couple weeks and was fine.. Now I have to do it again :/. Feeling super annoyed!
  • @RHrebien I did take the 7 day cream inserted one, over the counter, per recommendation of my Dr. It worked, or has for the last 3 days. I would definitely keep your dr updated that it's happening again. Maybe yours is just a little persistent and 2 rounds will be good. Thinking of you!
