Teething already?!

My LO is 8 weeks old and is already teething! Her two front bottom teeth are coming in and she is so miserable. I've been giving her 1.25ml of Tylenol every 4 hours and she gets a brief period of relief and is then in pain again. Does anyone know of any natural or nonmedicinal remedies that can help?

Re: Teething already?!

  • Not sure if your LO is old enough to benefit from this, but don't they make those teething rings you can freeze?

  • I have a few from my shower that I could try. She is just now starting to grasp and hold onto objects but isn't putting them into her mouth. She won't even take binkies-never has. I suppose I could hold onto it for her while she is figuring it out
  • She sucks on her hands but only since she began teething.

Mine is teething also. She is 2 months old. I do have a teething jelly thing you can pUt on the fridge but she much rather suck on her pacifier or cuddle with mama.
  • Pumpkin butt oil! Look it up, it's amazing stuff :)
  • I will do that. Thank you!!
  • Dr browns has a teething paci that you can put in the fridge.
  • I got my first tooth at two months. Crazy! Maybe try holding your babe with a frozen wash cloth on her gums?
  • Oh man- my little one has been "chewing" on his paci, drooling, and sucking his hands....I didn't know they could teeth this early....how can I tell if that's really what it is?
  • That sounds exactly how my LO was acting for a day or two so I checked her gums and they were a little red and along the front of the gum was a white spot. I Googled it to compare her mouth to the images and sure enough, they look exactly the same.

Now she is in pain and fussing so I'm fairly positive that's what it is. Poor thing :(

  • I don't have any experience with early teethers but definitely get Sophie the Giraffe. It's an all natural rubber teether that is great! We also used the frozen teethers and frozen wash clothes with DS.
  • Perhaps try an amber necklace. Make sure it's real amber though. It's supposed to help with teething, soreness, inflamation.

  • Sooooo how will I know if LO is teething? Is 12 weeks to early to start?

I was told it's never too early for them to start teething
  • I feel like I could have written this! Ds is 13 weeks and is miserable. Won't eat much and hates binkies. We can't get him to chew on anything but his hands. We have been using the hylands teething tablets. They seem to work ok.
  • Some babies are born with teeth so they can teeth at any time.

Gahhhhh I have so much to learn!
  • I think my LO is teething too! She has been sucking on her hands. She's also fussy and has a little white dot on her bottom gum. My DS didn't get a tooth until he was one! Soooo I'm surprised.
  • I would like to know why Sophie the Giraffe is so expensive. $25 seems like a lot for a rubber teether...

Wow I did not know it was $25 for a toothbrush!!!!!! :-O
  • A cold wash cloth and rub on her gums :)
  • Hyland's teething tablets and teething gel work for immediate relief, but what helped my first baby sleep longer were teething pods by Babyganics. It's just clove oil, coconut oil and stevia, and the clove oil has the anti-inflammatory properties which will actually relieve the pain naturally.
  • My DS was born with 2 little teeth nubbies 8 years ago so it does not surprise me that my DD is 10 weeks old and starting to drool like crazy as I believe she is starting to teeth as well. I got the mini Sophie the giraffe as it's easier for tinier babies to hold then the large one, as well as I put her regular soothie in the fridge then give to her when she seems like she's trying to suck on her hands and seems to soothe her.
