Restless legs

Anyone else have some restless leg action going on at night? Mine's been bad lately, it starts when I'm reading or watching TV in the evening and makes it really tough to sleep. I told my doctor today and he was not very helpful. He acted like it was an interesting anecdote I was sharing rather than a request for advice. For a while, tea was helping but I read that the tea I was drinking is not recommended in pregnancy (passionflower tea), so no more of that. If anyone has any tips, I would be happy to try them.

Re: Restless legs

  • I can't link it on my phone but there was recently a thread about this which included some helpful tips. I mostly find stretching to be helpful. I don't have restless legs exactly but have a lot of similar issues from Tourette's Syndrome. I have to stretch before bed and if hubby is willing it helps if he'll massage my legs. If I wake up with spasms or cramps I stretch again.

I believe some other things mentioned on the other thread were Epsom salt soaks, and cutting out caffeine. If tea was helping maybe try another kind that's safe during pregnancy? I'm partial to empress grey/lady grey or chai this time of year. Both can be found in decaffeinated.
