If so, what is it? I know everyone's income is different but I'm curious what everyone else is doing. I have champagne taste without the champagne budget because I want to have plenty saved and then some for mat leave. Anyway I'm getting tempted to start on the nursery and furniture alone is so expensive. We are team green so I want to do gray furniture because that will work either way. What is your budget for your nursery?
Re: Do you have a budget for your nursery?
Edit for punctuation.
I'm a FTM and love second hand shopping. I'm hoping to get everything for baby for under 1k. So far I've spent 65 on a 2 in 1 swing and bouncer, my fetal Doppler which I will probably resell for about 25 in a few more weeks when baby is more active and I can feel it, a boppy with two covers, some swaddlers, and two waterproof crib sheets. No idea if I'll be able to do it but that's my goal. The fancier things will probably come from gifts which I kinda hate but I've been told that no one wants to buy a second hand gift. My MIL is also insisting on buying me a designer diaper bag and she told me if I didn't pick one out that she would pick one that SHE liked. So it kills me that 20% of my total budget is going to a BAG
I think for nursery stuff it will be about 500 (crib, dresser, we are talking about turning a bookshelf into a closet because our nursery room has no closet, glider, paint, accessories)

We'll pass down the crib and buy a new Ikea dresser. I don't think ok really need to spend much money on decorations (except maybe curtains), fancy bedding, or or anything like that.
I see a lot of people picking out big expensive bedding sets. Babies won't use the quilt/blanket anyway, bumpers are a big no no (and banned in some states), so you're left with a VERY overpriced crib sheet, that will get puked on, peed on, pooped on. I'm a bigger fan of just buying 3 or 4 bottom sheets and that's it.

We aren't going to buy a separate changing table. Just using a changing pad on top of the bureau like we did with our son. I bought a nice almost brand new glider and ottoman off craigslist for $75 and have the changing cart that we used for our son that I'll put in her room to hold diapers, wipes, and blankets.
I think if we plan right, we can outfit her room for around $600-$700.
I was just thinking about you 4! You find out next week? The week after???? Yaaaay! trying to
