Weeks: 14 weeks! The baby is a size of a large lemon
Symptoms: Peeing all the time, still tired ( I do wake up for work @ 5 though and have a toddler to take care of when I get home lol), some nausea still.
Rant/Raves: So, this whole feeling better in the 2nd tri can start anyyyyyy timeee....
Questions: None.
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? My all time favorite drink is DR.PEPPER!
Weeks/Size: 13! Size of a kiwi or as long as a pea pod (although I still don't see it. Come on bump, show itself!!! )
Symptoms: I still don't have much to report. My appetite seems to be back on track now. The only 2 relentless symptoms that have accompanied be through the pregnancy are extremely dry lips (to the point of bleeding sometimes) and constipation. Little baby takes all of my water!
Rant/Raves: I am so, so happy to start the second tri!!!
Questions: for the experienced moms out there, what are your "must buys" that is first time moms should know about?
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc). The only pop I like is a Brazilian pop called Guaraná. And the only alcoholic beverages I like are wine and champagne. Before pregnancy I was in a "new world wine" phase, enjoying Australian Shiraz and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. And, of course, a good champagne is always a hit.
Symptoms: The nausea is gone (fingers crossed!) but I'm still exhausted.
Rant/Raves: we've started telling people about the baby, and I'm getting the 'was it an accident' question quite a bit. SERIOUSLY? I'm 25, and have been married for 3 years. No, it wasn't an accident, and even if it was, does it matter??? Yikes.
Questions: FTM here... When did you start registering for the baby? Someone mentioned I should get rolling and I was thinking it was still really early.
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc) I love fountain coke! (We don't bring soda into the house.. Sigh.
Weeks/Size: 13, a Georgia peach...or a scoop of ice cream according to babysizer.com
Symptoms: extreme irritability and irrationality apparently...
Rant/Raves: we went to bed at 8:45 (and by "went to bed", I mean DH was snoring by 8:46 and I didn't actually fall asleep until at least 10, I'm sure, despite taking a Unisom...) DH woke up this morning and goes "man, I must have really needed that sleep, I slept right through!" ...daggers from eyes and a throat punch. Meanwhile, I was up 5+ times and then was woken up before my alarm when he forgot to turn the house alarm off before letting the dog out...
Questions: none
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc) Depends on my mood or season. Right now, its hot spiced apple cider.
@thaisac1 A must buy is somewhere for baby to sleep in the beginning. That will look different for every mom. Some choose to co-sleep (not my personal choice), some choose to have an attached co-sleeper on the bed, some choose a bassinet, some choose a rock n play, some choose a pack n play, some choose straight to the crib. But know your plans for sleeping baby for the day you get home from the hospital. For us, that was a pack n play with bassinet insert in our room right next to my side of the bed. Also, a good swaddler. There are many choices out there for that as well, and different babies do better with some than others. For us, the Halo SwaddleMe sleep sack was the best. The Summer Infant Sleep Sack works for some (our DD learned early how to bust out of this one), there's the Miracle Blanket (never tried, but heard good reviews for houdini babies), and for some, doing an actual swaddle with a blanket works (this personally makes me nervous if the baby tries to bust out). But these were definitely two of our must-haves right away. OH and have some bottles...no matter how set you may be on breastfeeding, you need to have an option if that is just not working. Including having a can or two of the sample formulas around JUST IN CASE. I am all for breastfeeding (EBF by boob and pumped milk in a bottle for 9 months) but for some it just doesn't work, and you need to get that baby fed.
Symptoms: tired a lot of the time, a little crabby, and still some constipation (although that seems to have improved a bit)
Rant/Raves: I was cleared for exercise last week, so last night I decided I was going to jump on the treadmill and give it a go. Dr said I have to keep my heart rate under 140, I had no idea how hard that was going to be. I just wanted to run and I couldn't go at what I thought was comfortable because it shot my heart rate up quick. It was a very slow run with walk breaks which for a person who has run 2 marathons and quite a few halves was really depressing
Questions: Are there any other runner moms out there?
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc) For an alcoholic beverage a really nice beer Brooklyn Brewery Lager is one of my favs. Also Inca Kola, it's a Peruvian soda
Symptoms: still constantly nauseous, the puking has subsided a little bit (thanks Diclegis), beyond exhausted (but then again, I have DD and SS at home, plus teach Special Ed with lots of physical involvement everyday).
Rant/Raves: Found maternity pants for work at our big consignment sale for $3! WOOHOO!
Questions: None!
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc) Skinny Pirate (diet coke and coconut rum). But lately....SMOOTHIES!!

GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc)
Diet Mountain Dew!!! I haven't had one since I found out I was pregnant. I will drink caffeine once a week- usually I pick Saturdays but I usually have a regular pop.

Oh and I loved "Houdini babies". Lol!
Its really personal preference on what you want to do for sleeping when you get home from the hospital. I had two reasonings. First was that I just wanted her there with me, since she'd been with me for 9 months it was hard to separate from her and I also have a great fear of SIDS...having her closer (while wearing a Snuza) eased that fear for me some. Also, if you are breastfeeding, it is just not fun getting up and going to their room every time they wake up. Some moms actually put another bed in the nursery and just sleep in there for a while, most I know of have the baby with them initially. I'm actually looking into the co-sleeper attachments for this one, because it alleviates the need to get up out of bed every time to feed the baby. You just pull them into bed, nurse them in the side lying position, and then back they go to their sleeper. It is safer than having them sleep in the bed with you. Our DD was in our room for 2 months until we moved her to the nursery. Some go much longer and some start them in their own room. Its really a matter of personal preference and what you find works for you. We have the pack n play and crib ready to go when she was home from the hospital so we had both options. Plus, with her sleeping in the pack n play bassinet for 2 months, it was easier to move that into the living area of the house for naps during the day and it was what she was comfortable with.

Might I also add a Snuza as a must have? Its a movement monitor that attaches to their diaper. It clips on and has a soft piece that sits on their abdomen. It detects their breathing motion. It has a small light that blinks green which each breath (that was visible through her swaddler). If the monitor doesn't detect movement for 10 seconds, it vibrates on the baby's belly to try and rouse them. If it is able to rouse the babe, the light will continue blinking but will now be orange to let you know that it had to rouse the baby. If it is unable to detect motion after 5 seconds (for a total of 15 seconds) it sounds an alarm. It was the most amazing thing in the world and gave me so much piece of mind with DD. The alarm worked great until she got really mobile in bed (around 5 months, we stopped using it completely at 6 months when she was in all corners of the crib at night, it would wiggle off and we had a couple false alarms with her wiggling it off her diaper at night). We did have 2 false alarms, but they were due to the monitor being knocked off the diaper, and honeslty, I'd rather have a false alarm than not have the security it gave me. HIGHLY recommend. It runs about $120, but totally totally worth it and 100% a must need in my book. Even with her sleeping next to me, it was nice to look over and see that green light flashing as she slept.

That's good to know! Thanks! I'm gonna be bugging you for advice every Wednesday ticker change. Lol At age 33, I have never even changed a diaper in my life !

okay guys- I'm feeling really silly here and maybe this isn't the right place for this question but I searched the boards for ticker questions and this one came up.... I created my ticker- do I really have to attached the HTML every time or is there some way to tie it to my profile? (PS I have attached it below as a test because I've never actually remembered to do so).
Other than that and so I don't break the subject of this board
Weeks/Size: 11 W 5 days
Symptoms: Peeing and hungry but neither are TOO bad- I'm not sleeping great at night but that's pretty usual
Rant/Raves: Waiting on Panorama test results so we can finally send annoucements out.
Questions: Has anyone used Hynobabies? Do you recommend it? We're using a midwife so pain relief is not an option unless we transfer upstairs to the labor ward.
GTKY:
What is your all time favorite drink? Bubbly! I miss it...
@thaisac1 By all means, ask away! I'm no expert but I'm willing to share any advice I have that's asked for I'll say too, I recognize your screen name a little more than others because your story struck a chord from the beginning. Going through IVF, having the fear you had lost your LO, and still being here with your LO growing strong! I had started hoping for that FOR you when you first thought you were leaving us. Glad you're still here!
@jkffx7 when you are updating your signature press the button on the upper right that looks like this <> BEFORE you paste the html code. This is how I got mine to work!
Weeks/Size: 14 weeks - it's the size of a lemon (btw last week it was a peach which seems bigger than a lemon, but whatever)
Symptoms: Indigestion. I want to eat all the tums. Any tips?
Rant/Raves: DH wants to paint our baby girl's room blue (I'm not thrilled), but I'm looking for cute nursery ideas with blue walls that aren't too masculine.
Questions: Which video baby monitor do you have or recommend? I want one that is compatible with our iphone and ipads. I would also like to be able to check in on the baby remotely when I go back to work and she is napping at home with the nanny.
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc) Usually I love wine, can't wait to treat myself to a glass for my 30th bday at the end of October!

You are so sweet! Yes it's been an incredible rollercoaster, once baby is born I will write a detailed post that hopefully will give people hope , since we have been swimming against the tide from day one! Thanks to you and all the ladies here for the positive vibes all along, I had no question that it helped my little one! And cheers to second trimester !
@jkfxx7 I looked into hyponobabies and decided that I didn't want to with my first. I heard great things about it, but I ended up reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and other natural books when I had my son. I felt so ready and prepared and knew my body could do what it was meant to do. I had a midwife and will be going that route again with this LO. After reading and preparing I was able to go med free and didn't even have an IV in my arm (I HATE NEEDLES). I knew the IV would bother me and distract me from what my body needed to do so I told them I didn't want it. If your okay with going into a different state of mind (which I did anyways) then go for it!
Rant/Raves: Can jeans, especially maternity jeans, please stop pressing on my uteris??? I mean wtf do I buy these things for?
Questions: Any mothers on here more interested in the French methods for parenting? Or any actual French mothers on here?
GTKY: What is your all time favorite drink? (Can be an alcoholic drink, mixed, pop, etc) Usually water with cucumber slices, but right now I would kill for an iced french vanilla coffee with cream and sugar!
Just a quick FYI, since we've had two people do it, ticker changes are for the days you start a new week. So whatever day is change from one week to the next, that's when you post.
