Baby Shower cake flavors

So I am participating in the planning process of my baby shower but I'm kind of torn on what flavor to do for my cake. I know it's silly so stress over. I am just not a fan of boring cake flavors (like birthday type cakes). I love anything chocolate (and peanut butter of course) but I know this does not appeal to everyone. I am just curious as to what everyone else is doing for their cake or has done in the past. Suggestions appreciated!

My friends baby shower cake was strawberries and cream. It was moist and delicious. I'm going to order from the same lady it was THAT good.

We are just doing marble but I know when I go to parties I hate it when ppl only offer a cake with fruit chunks in the filling. I have a texture issue so I won't eat it.

For DS's sip and see my cousin made a super moist white cake and put a layer of almond icing between the cake layers. It was simple but delicious and the almond instead of the typical vanilla gave it a nice, subtle twist.

Just a thought - have you considered other dessert options besides cake? For my shower, we are doing chocolate covered strawberries & oreo truffle pops.

It seems most people like marble cake so I suppose if I want to play it safe I can do a marble cake.

@mbecca11 I love pumpkin anything! But again I feel like that's one of those flavors you either love or hate!

Can you do two flavors? Chocolate peanut butter has a lot of lovers, but some people (yes, I'm one of those people, shame on me) don't really care for peanut butter icing. But if multiple flavors are an option, chocolate peanut butter and something like carrot cake or yellow cake with choclate icing might work well.

I think that's what I might end up doing! Chocolate and peanut butter for the smaller top tier and then a more generic flavor for the larger bottom tier.

We had pie at mine, but it worked with the rustic theme as it was held in an event barn. They had pumpkin, apple, peach and berry crumble pie. It was cute and everyone seemed to like the options and how it was a bit different
