So I started back at work today after a week off due to being exhausted and nauseas, Im officially 8 weeks today, and surprisingly in great form! Until I went to the loo at work and discovered heavy bright red bleeding, I was devastated and believed that this was my happiness over, I went to hospital and had a physical exam done, and was advised that my womb is closed so it was a good start, I then had my first US, we could see the sac and the foetus! But no heartbeat, so I then went ahead and got a transvaginal US, where heartbeat was detected thank god! The heavy bleeding was such a shock, as I havent had any cramping whatsoever? Has anyone else ever experienced this? I have been put on bedrest for the next week or two, and have to go back next week for another US, so Im praying things stay looking this good!
I haven't experienced this personally, but my dear friend went through the exact same thing. She said it was nightmarish as she had already had a miscarriage and was so scared, but thankfully her baby was fine and is now a super happy 2 month old! T&Ps for you!
No advice but sending lots of thoughts and prayers! It is a good sign that they were able to find the HB. I hope everything goes well at your follow up.
I knew a lady that had bleeding off and on throughout her entire pregnancy. Her dr and several specialist could never figure out why she was bleeding. She had a healthy little girl she was born early at 35w but that was because of severe pre-e.
I had some bleeding at 8 weeks too. I didn't see anyone for it because it wasn't too heavy and i felt fine. Figured it was "breakthrough" bleeding where your hormones aren't quite registering pregnancy so your body has a period. It happens at weeks 4, 8, 12... When your period is supposed to start. I'll be seeing my midwife next week and will let her know about it but I feel ok so don't want to worry or stress.
This happened to me at 4 weeks! It was terrifying to see how red it was with (TMI) clots in it and the works. I went to the ER without any cramps or any pain at all and was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage, which was confirmed at an ultrasound 2 weeks later (along with a great heartbeat!).
Yep, had this happen at 13 weeks with my son. It was very frightening, but everything was fine. I was put on brief bed rest afterwards. Take care of yourself on bed rest--and after. Fx that baby continues to be healthy!
I had this exactly at 8 weeks with both my girls. Had to go to the emerge both times as well to get the Rhogam shot. I was checked and my cervix was closed both times with heartbeats...just some random, unexplained bleeding. I have two healthy girls...hoping that I don't have this with this pregnancy! Glad to hear you're ok
My sister-in-law had bleeding on and off throuhout her pregnancy. She was always scared when it happened but now has a healthy two year old. Prayers that you get a good report next visit!
Usually these are due to a subchronic hematoma. Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do with them except wait them out. Depending on the size and location there is a 50/50 chance of loss Prayers that it resolves.
