Morning sickness? ALL DAY SICKNESS!

Is anyone else suffering from nausea every day, morning till night and throwing up? What are you doing to help it? I am trying every remedy I can google from peppermint tea to ginger chews and I am miserable as can be. This is my second pregnancy and with my first I felt great! Hoping this does not last nine months, I hardly can get out of bed :/

Re: Morning sickness? ALL DAY SICKNESS!

  • I felt this way with my first and now with my second. What I find helps the best is eating carbs and protein every couple of hours. Be careful with the peppermint tea though. I don't think it's recommend during pregnancy.

  • Oh thank you! I didn't think it helped me anyways.
  • Hi @Kamierachelle: it looks like you are new to the Bump--welcome! First of all, I hope you get over your morning sickness. Ugh--it's not fun. Second, please do lurk and search the boards; there are numerous threads on m/s that may be helpful to you. I know someone posted a recipe for all natural popsicles that I tried and found them to be quite soothing, in terms of relieving the nausea.

  • all day /night long...forever....
  • All-the-time sickness for me too! This is my 2nd pregnancy - I went through this with my first as well and have not been able to find anything that helps. My doctor had me on Zofran (prescription nausea medication) during my first pregnancy, and that didn't even work. I work part-time and am in law school; being sick all the time makes it incredibly difficult to study or get anything done. I never feel like getting off the couch. It is so frustrating to feel miserable all the time and to not feel like doing anything ever. It will most likely subside after the first trimester, so there is light at the end of the tunnel! Hang in there.
  • Anyone throw up a lollipop? I just did.

Seriously, this is just not cool.

  • I am 6w3d and have been throwing up and nauseous all morning, It goes away when I get some food down around noon and comes back around dinner time, Its so frustrating because I am thrilled to be pregnant but have not been able to enjoy due to being sick and wanting to lay on the couch all day!
  • I'm 8w3d and have had it since week 5. I've tried everything...ginger, preggie pops, small meals, sea bands, vitamin b6/ unisom combo. I was throwing up 8+ times a day so my Dr prescribed Zofran. I'm still nauseous all day long but throwing up 0-2 times a day so much more manageable. Maybe ask your dr about B6 and unisom (same thing as Diclegis) and maybe that will work for you.
  • I am so proud of myself. I used to eat salad everyday for lunch, but since week 6, I've had major food aversion and nausea. Today, I gave myself a pep talk. Just looking at the spring mix in the fridge freaked my stomach out, but I put it on my plate anyway. And I ate it. And I feel half way normal now. I told my husband last night that the only things that sound good are fried and fatty, but I know my stomach wouldn't be able to handle it. So, I did the reverse. As much as the salad didn't appeal to me, I forced myself to eat it, and I feel less nauseous now. What sort of a head game is this?
  • With my DS, I threw up all throughout the day from week five until I was on the delivery table. I'm currently 8w with this pregnancy ande very nauseous again. Plus keeping up with a two year old! I'm trying to eat every hour or two this time and that seems to be helping. I eat lots of toast! Hope you feel better!
  • All day long like I am on a rocking boat.
  • I'm just getting over a bad bout of morning sickness myself it was about a 5 hr run of puking every 15-30 min. I finally broke down and called my midwife and she told me to lay on my left side and take one small bite (just one) of a saltine cracker and hold it in my cheek and suck on it. She sad if I could go 40-45 min w/o puking to take a teaspoon of water and hold it in my mouth and let it soak in another 15-20 min. Then to slowly increase frequency of water 1 teaspoon at a time (don't rush it). She also called in a script for zofran (which I haven't needed, but now have on hand). It worked thank goodness! Because the next stop was the hospital for IV fluids! This really helped me! I hope it's helpful to others!
  • Hey everybody I'm 7w2days and I'm nausea all day long can't hold nothing down
  • Same. All day long. I'm taking CitriNatal B calm as my prenatal, so I have b6 thorough out the day. It helps some, but what really helped is what @missnc77 said. I have to eat totally clean which helps ALOT. Luckily I don't have an aversion to it, but I do crave the bad things lol.
  • @saraleigh2 I did the exact same thing all day yesterday! I was throwing up everything (even a preggie pop) and was this close to having to go in for IV fluids. But I tried the saltine trick and it totally worked!
