How long after d&c?

I just had a d&c on 9/11 due to finding out I had a blighted ovum. I have always wanted a child, now more than ever. My dr recommend that I wait 2 cycles and then try to conceive, but I was wondering how long everyone else waited or what their dr told them.

I'm not waiting at all- there is no medical reason to wait. If you haven't had a period then us ovulation tests so you can date it correctly!

If you are not ready emotionally then of course you should wait!

I had a blighted ovum and a missed miscarriage and I was told just to wait until I had 1 period after each D&C

I had a mmc at 10weeks, was told to wait one cycle after d&c.We are on our second cycle trying now.

When I had my d&c I ended up having to have a 2nd one done a week later due to them not getting every thing out the first time. After that my Dr told me to wait one cycle but I believe that was because I had to have 2 d&c's done so close together.

I was told to wait one cycle after d&c for my blighted ovum. AF just made her appearance and is on her way out (she came right around 4 weeks post d&c), so now I'll be doing OPT everyday just to figure out if I'm back to my regular cycle or not. Best of luck!

I was told to wait 3 months... However, when they tell you you'll be VERY fertile... They aren't kidding. We got pregnant again right away and ended up having another miscarriage... I don't know if the timing was why I miscarried again or if my body wasn't ready or what... But I would recommend waiting :-/

I think it is also important how far along you were. Very early miscarriages tend to be given the green light right away. I was 9 weeks and had a d&c Friday at almost 14 weeks. My doc said one full cycle. We are hoping to be pregnant by Christmas.

I am also scared of another miscarriage but this is the only route to a baby. I am so ready for my daughter to have a sibling. Heaven forbid I have another miscarriage in my future but I have hope that I have more children in my future.

I was told one full cycle. I tend to have long cycles, so I'm not sure whether I'll follow the advice. If it's been a month or more and if I can tell that I'm ovulating, then I might try earlier. Right now my temps are falling jaggedly and I'm not sure I'll have a clear pattern this "cycle" so waiting until after my period would also reassure me that my hormones were in line. Plus, I want to make sure my uterine lining has enough time to build up again.

OB I saw day of said didn't need to wait (natural miscarriage at 11 weeks). Regular OB at follow up said 1 cycle.
Now that I have had first AF following, I'm happy we waited. It was an intense period and I think my body was/is still resetting.

Thank you for all of your input. My OB said there's a 25% chance of another miscarriage if it would happen too soon, but other people I know that have went through this said they were told there's no reason to wait other than for dating purposes. I think I'm going to wait at least one cycle and see how that goes. I'm hoping to be pregnant by Christmas as well! Good luck to everyone!

I mc'd at 14 weeks in July and my doctor told me to wait one-two cycles, or until testing results were in. Since it was my 3rd loss we were waiting on extensive testing results. My other mc's I was told to wait one cycle.

I had a blighted ovum and mmc at 10 weeks and had a d&c. My doctor originally said 1-2 cycles but then told me at my follow up it really wasn't necessary to wait except for dating purposes and they do u/s anyways for that. He also said there wasn't a risk of miscarriage for me if I were to get pregnant immediately.

I had a D&C at 9 weeks. My doctor had me wait 2 cycles for dating purposes and to make sure everything was back to normal. Also, she had me wait 6 weeks for sex and swimming (similar to after a delivery) to make sure I didn't get an infection.
