I use my phone for EVERYTHING. I have the Samsung Edge 6+ (Android) and this is my home screen. I have a calendar widget I use for everything, and each color is representative of a category, like Dr's appt, personal, financial, work, etc.
I used to use a hard paper planner but my phone does just as well.
Ditto PP. I bought a planner with hopes of utilizing it. Never did. Not even once. My phone's calendar is my go to for everything; appointments, bills, general reminders, etc.
If a handwritten planner works better for you, then why not. I just find my way to work for me!
We use google calendar in our house for our business, personal etc appointments. I use a monthly check-off sheet for bills with due date and just a full in for amounts. I put the sheet on a clipboard and put the bills behind the sheet. I do that for both the business and home bills (separately). I tried a planner but it was too much of a pain in the butt to remember to fill in or change.
I love planners and still need to write EVERYTHING down or nothing gets done. I try to use my phone, but still like having a planner in addition. If you don't mind the super-girly prints, I think Lilly Pulitzer makes the best planners, I've been using them for years. And if you can hold off, they usually go on sale pretty fast after January.
I'm the opposite of PP. I'm awful with using my phone as any sort of planner. I mean, plus my phone is super cheap so I don't have organization type apps. Honestly though, I prefer to write things down anyway. I am a list maker more than a calendar lady, but my mom did get me a lil whiteboard calendar thing and I'm going to try and use it for doctor visits or whatever. Guess it's just really just personal preference.
I use a paper planner and I'd be lost without it! Should be getting my 2016 delivered this week lol. I use the live well planner from Inkwell Press. It's anazing. Maybe for those of you that bought one and never used it... You might need to find a different layout that works for you. Of course I know not all people are planner people but I love mine and DH does too. It keeps us on top of everything
DH and I have a whiteboard calendar in our kitchen where we use one color for my stuff, one for his stuff, and one for things we have together. We also use our phones which helps with planning further in advance than just a month. We've liked having the calendar on the kitchen wall since it's helpful to remind us what the other has going on that day.
I need to write things down in order to remember anything, so i use a week-to-view paper planner. I need to pick up a 2016 one, thinking about it... For family stuff, refer to The Fridge Of Knowledge. The kitchen is the heart of our home so it makes sense for us to make sure anything we all need to know about is displayed in the kitxhen, so school notes, invitations, and posters get magnetized to the fridge, and any appointments are written on a whiteboard on tje fridge door.
I am in love with Franklin Covey Planners. I would be lost without mine. I need to write things down or else I forget about it....especially now what with having pregnancy brain and Mommy brain.
That's a really interesting thing, I never had to plan stuff as usually my calendar is just home, work, home.... But i guess when LO is here it may get more tricky ? Even when I do lists I end up never looking at them afterwards, they just help organizing my mind.
Will you use apps or paper to track the baby's schedule ?
I always try to start a planner, but I can never keep it up for long. I have a small notebook that I keep in my purse where I write down things I need to do, thoughts, ideas, etc. It's been working out great for me so far.
I keep everything on my phone, but we also have a white board in the kitchen the I use so my DH know when bills are coming out, when I have doctors appointments, or anything else I I think he might need/want to know.
I use my phone mostly, but also have a chalk board calendar. I'm actually in the process of making a home command centre. 3 kids and one in school makes me want try and be more organized!
I definitely use my Google calendar widget on my phone. It syncs with my computer and I can add events to my husband's as well so he gets notifications too. Paper calendars and planners can't send you alerts and I'm way too scatter brained to not be reminded ahead of time.
I personally use a big monthly desk calendar at work to keep up with personal and work related appointments. I follow that up with my email calendar that gives me a reminder a half hour beforehand. For home, I have a large whiteboard monthly calendar hanging in my kitchen for all appointments so DH can't miss things either. Lol.
I work a lot better with handwritten than I do with technology, but I think it's all just personal preference.
I used to be a monthly calendar on the wall, weekly planner in my purse kind of person, but I am quickly switching over to full phone organization. I just use the calendar app that came with my phone (Galaxy s5), turned off syncing to Google+ because I don't use it (I probably should, and will get with the times in the future, but for now I'd rather ignore it). I love that I can set an alarm to go off the evening before, say, a doctor's appointment, to remind me. Definitely has saved me from missing something more than once!
I use a purse calendar. I love it, I should start using it for bills but I write drs appointments, stuff for DD, paydays, what weekends I have DD and everything goes into that calandar. I would not do well with a big planner, I use the wall calandar every once in awhile but everything goes in the purse calandar and I carry it around all the time
I use my phone for appointments, etc. but I was given a really nice bound planner before my son was born. I didn't want it to go to waste so I started writing all his milestones, funny stories and other cute things that he did in it. I've gotten a new one every year and it's fun to look back to see what he was doing one or two years ago!

I save a lot of my old planners as well. I especially love the one from the year I was pregnant/first year for son. It's funny to see how the number of exclamation points went up on appointments the closer I got to due date. And love the random little notes I made to myself too.
