Target BP program problems

So far I have heard nothing but awesome things about Target's breast pump program. After calling my insurance company and being less than impressed with how they directed me (or shall I say, didn't direct me), I turned to Target. I haven't been getting e-mails, when I call they say the person assigned to me is out of the office, and just generally give me the run around. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, did things turn around? What did you do? I'm so frustrated I'm ready to just buy a pump OOP. I keep confirming my that they have my correct e-mail and insurance info, but it's been two weeks and I've not made any progress.

Re: Target BP program problems

  • I had problems with my insurance and getting a breast pump as well.  They said I had to get it through a medical supplier and then send a claim in to be reimbursed.  Of the places I could go, one didn't sell breast pumps anymore and the other was being extremely difficult.  I ended up using the Babies R Us breast pump program (similar to Target's).  They did all of the work for me.  Told me which pumps were covered through my insurance and how much it was to upgrade.  I didn't have to pay upfront for the pump (only the upgrade).  They sent the claim to the insurance instead.  I just had to fill out paperwork and fax a prescription from my doctor.  After I ordered it, it was at my doorstep two days later.

Not sure why, but a coworker with the same insurance called them as well and they said the insurance wouldn't cover one through t

  • My insurance wouldn't cover the Target or BRU program. I had to call 10 local medical suppliers to find one that distributes breast pumps; once I found one, the process was easy, but finding an in-network provider was a chore.

  • I called my insurance and they gave me 3 suppliers to order through. I went online and picked one and that was it. However, I JUST did this so I have no idea if there is a problem yet. My pump should be covered completely though.
  • I went through areoflow. It took about a week for them to go through my insurance and call me to confirm I was good to go and which pump I wanted. But after that call my pump was at my door the very next day!
  • I didn't go through my insurance. Based off of what people have posted her on the Bump, everyone who did ran into more problems than it was worth. I went through Edgepark and entered all my info (including insurance). I had a list of pumps to choose from the next day. I chose which one (all online) and received mine in the mail within a week!
  • Also, if you go to medelas website to the insurance section you can put in your insurance company and they will tell you suppliers you can use. You don't have to get a Medela pump but it would give you a good starting place without having to call annoying insurance people.
  • I'm sorry. My insurance was no help so I found target to be amazing. I picked up my free pump the day after I called them. Maybe ask for a new case worker?
