I know this is an old post but just curious, I did a two hour test on Friday and just found out I barely failed the one hour but passed the fasting and two hour. I am still being diagnosed and having to go through all of the gd dietician/specialists/testing four times a day. When you passed the four hour did they still give you the diagnosis? Or did that good result override the failed one hour? Just wondering why do the two hour if that result doesn't even matter (or so it seems in my situation). Thanks!
I failed my one hour and passed with flying colors my 3 hour. The 3 hour test is miserable and bring food for after. I did not ad after not eating for 17 hours I passed out.
@parkerhouse - it seems odd to me that if you "failed" the screening but passed the actual diagnostic test they would still say you have gd. Were you boarder line? Maybe just a case of "better safe than sorry?" Do you remember your numbers? Must be frustrating!
Just to clarify I only did a two hour test- where they got a fasting draw, a one hour draw, and a two hour draw. In case that makes a difference. She didn't mention the numbers (a nurse just called to tell me and get me scheduled for the dietician). When I asked for clarification on what I failed she said I barely failed the one hour draw but any fail results in a diagnosis. I guess I'll get more info tomorrow, just annoyed. Thanks for the response ladies!
I failed the one hour but passed the 3 hr. Was told no GD. Had to fail 2 of the 4 draws during the 3 hr to be diagnosed. I luckily passed all 4 but was told that's the criteria they use for diagnosing at my docs office.

On the 3 hour test I "passed" two of the four draws (fasting & 3 hour,) and at first I thought that meant I passed. But when my OB called, she explained that for that test, failing 2 blood draws means I have GD. I guess it's kind of like a test at school, you can get some questions correct and still fail the overall test. Once you get the hang of the diet and testing, it's really not as bad as it may seem at first. Good luck with the dietician tomorrow!

Actually, it's not uncommon for many women to fail the 1 hour, then turn around pass the 3 hour with flying colors. Some OB's in the States won't even use the 1 hour because so many women receive a false positive.
Failed my one hour, passed all four draws of the three hour test but they are still considering me borderline. Sounds a little odd if you passed the second test that they would consider you GD. I used mychart.com so I could actually look at all my values. If you're medical provider has mychart it might be good to look at.
I just took my one hour yesterday and do not know the results yet. But has anyone passed out from the solution they had to drink? I also had to get my TDap and Flu shot so I dont know if it was just an overload or what. But I got really sweaty and clammy about 30 mins in and then passed out mid-blood draw.
My results just came in through mychart this morning. I failed the one hour by one point. I got 180 and cut off is 179. Awesome. The fasting and two hour were completely within range, even on the lower side. I've been testing at home since my appt yesterday and all of my numbers (yeah, I know I've only done it four times.... But still) have been great. Oh well, here's to a strict diet and, according to the dietician yesterday, little to no more weight gain! *sarcasm*
