Had my first ultrasound today. Judging from my last period I should be 6w5d, but there was no heartbeat and not a definite embryo. Doc, husband, and I are pretty sure we saw what looked like an embryo attached to yolk sac. Doc couldn't get great pics. The measurement of my yolk sac says 5w5d, which would make the ultrasound normal. I am scheduled to come back in 2 weeks... the wait is going to torture me. Anyone else gone for the first ultrasound and just seen a yol sac?

My first pregnancy, I went to the dr expecting to be right at 7w based on my period. They saw a yolk sac but no fetal pole, and I was measuring 5w5d. They did not give me warm and fuzzies, but had me come back 10 days later. That baby will be 5 in November, born ON the adjusted due date they gave me based on the 5w5d u/s.

Unless you know when you ovulated,LMP isn't reliable. I wouldn't worry yet.

Same thing happened to me. Try to relax and not worry because LMP isn't reliable.

This exact thing happened to me yesterday. Went in thinking I was 7 weeks, only measuring 5wks5 days. I'm waiting for the nurse to call me back with my blood work results and have a follow up ultrasound at the end of next week. I don't know how it will turn out yet, but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in the wait!

Hello mommies! Yesterday I went in for an ultrasound, which should have measured I was somewhere around 7 weeks. Doc couldn't get a great measurement, but thinks there are 2 yolk sacs! The measurement she did get was about 6 weeks. Doc, husband, and I saw flickering (tiny heartbeat??) but I was instructed to come back this Monday for another ultrasound. I will keep you updated!

When I first found out I was pregnant my LMP would have put me at 8 weeks. Went in for our 1st ultrasound and they saw NOTHING. I was heartbroken. Two weeks later showed that the baby was only 6 weeks so I was barely PG at that time. I am now 11w2d and everything is great. I think going by LMP is tricky because if you are like me and ovulated late 1 time it can really throw the dates off.

I am lmp and ovulation 8w3d measuring 6w3d. but weekly scans are progressing right on target. still scared.

I am in a very similar situation. I have irregular cycles and I got a BFP on 9/17. I was thinking I was 4-5 weeks pregnant at that time. My first u/s was on 9/23 and they couldn't see ANYTHING other than thickened uterine lining. They were concerned about an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. I went back on 9/30 for another u/s and they could see the gestational sac...yay! But that was all they could see. They told me I was likely less than 4 weeks pregnant at that time, which made no sense with the dates. I went back for another u/s on 10/8 and they saw the yolk sac and everything was progressing (sac was growing and everything). They tried to find the heartbeat and she thought she MAYBE found it, but it was too faint to be sure. She also couldn't definitively see the fetal pole. Based on the measurements of the gestational sac and the yolk sac, they put me at 5 wks 4 days...which means I would have been only 2 weeks pregnant when I got the BFP...is that even possible?!

I have a double uterus (with 2 cervixes and a vaginal septum) so she did say it's possible that the u/s imaging is a little more difficult with my situation and the images may not be as clear. They are having me come back on 10/21 for another u/s (2 weeks from my last one) and by then we should be able to confirm it's a viable pregnancy and get a due date...because we should clearly see the heartbeat and fetal pole. I have been so anxious. My doctor hasn't given me any reason to be concerned and has been very happy to see the progression week by week. I'm just so nervous to have a confirmed viable pregnancy and get a due date. I have known I have been pregnant for 4 weeks and to not even know whether it's actually a viable pregnancy is killing me. I also am so confused by how the dates could be so wildly off.

Is it a good sign that everything has been progressing? Or should things be progressing faster? I have had ZERO bleeding or odd symptoms...just the usual preggo symptoms. I'm just so nervous and just want to know one way or another.

Hello again, I hope you are all doing great. I apologize for abruptly leaving. Thank you so much for your encouraging words and support. @TabbyBran3 I hope all is well

It was confirmed that I had a missed MC in late October. I took a long break from The Bump, and focused on my emotional and physical health to encourage recovery.

I just recently returned to The Bump to see if anyone had gone through a similar situation- I am continuing to test monthly for BETA testing, and my HCG has continued to decrease until this last test. Feb 22 it was 720 mIU/ml. When I returned nearly a month later, it had gone up one point- 721 mIU/ml. Doc immediately asked if I had unprotected sex, I had. It is a possibility that I am pregnant again. I am going in tomorrow morning for another BETA test, hopefully I get the results same day.

Either way, I am full of hope. I am not giving up.
