Cramping after IUI

Hi Everyone,
I had my IUI on Saturday morning and was have been crampy since Sunday.  This is not my first IUI and I have not had this with others.  Did you experience cramping?  Is it OK for me to take Ibuprofen?  Thanks!

My dr told me only Tylenol... So I would take that if you feel you need to.

For me personally I had pretty severe cramping/pain up until 12 hours after my IUI (I didn't take any medication). I think I've heard before that you are better off taking Tylenol over Ibuprofen. If you are still feeling crampy though I would call the doctors office.

@Jaqcap17 I had pretty severe cramping after IUI, more on the 1st one and not so much on the 2nd.  My RE also said Tylenol only.  My cramping lasted for probably 6 or 7 days, maybe longer I can't remember.  I thought something was seriously wrong, but RE said it was very normal.  It could just be the way your body is reacting to the meds this round.  I wouldn't be too concerned, at least for my RE's office, they were used to that complaint and said it would go away over time - which it did.

    Heating pads help.

I think you're only supposed to take Tylenol in case you get pregnant (my understanding is that Ibuprofin can be harmful to the bean, if you're pregnant). I haven't experienced any cramping yet (my IUI was this morning, but I'm sore as hell from the speculum. I've been trying not to take anything, but I think I might cave and take some Tylenol....
