Re: *Monday Ticker Change*

  • Weeks: 22, Papaya!

Symptoms: Feeling pretty good these days. My belly and c-section scar start hurting if I walk more than a few miles at a time.

Appointments: I think my next one is mid-October, when I get back from vacation.

Happy: We're going on vacation for two weeks, leaving Wednesday!!!!!! I can't wait! :) And tomorrow is my birthday so I got to celebrate that this past weekend.

Crappy: So much packing to do, and my H is planning to work up until the minute we leave for the train station, apparently. I'm annoyed, because I could really use his help packing and getting ready.

GTKY: Reese's pumpkins, obvs. I also like PB snickers and candy corn. We'll probably take DS trick or treating. :)

Symptoms: started feeling round ligament pain.. Oh joy!

    Appointments: not till October 12th

Happy/Crappy: pretty happy cause I'm still flying high on the news we're having a girl :D

GTKY: Tell us your favorite Halloween candy! And your plans for the holiday, if you know them:
I LOVE those little pumpkin candies. And Candy corn. And Reese's.. And well pretty much all the candy these days.
Not sure what our plans are... I don't want to do a bar scene thing and no one has told me they're having a party so this may be first year since I was kid we'll just stay in and hand out candy. I hope someone has a party though I want a reason to wear a costume!

Symptoms: waking up a lot more now. My memory has vanished too, pregnancy brain on overdrive!

Appointments: got to hear heartbeat at midwife check up last week which was exciting! Next one not til mid October - A/S

Happy/Crappy: hmm I'm a bit indifferent this week! Tired and finding school hard at the mo

GTKY: Tell us your favorite Halloween candy! And your plans for the holiday, if you know them.

Am in the uk, we don't really do much for Halloween and we don't really have specific Halloween candy, but intriguing reading about all of yours!
  • Weeks/Fruit: 19 / Mango

Symptoms: just hungry all the time; waking up throughout the night

Appointments: a/s on Wednesday! I'm nervous and excited!

Happy/Crappy: happy with the cooler weather :)

GTKY: Tell us your favorite Halloween candy! And your plans for the holiday, if you know them - i'm craving sweets all the time now, so any candy will do except anything with mint in it. No plans for the holiday yet.

  • Weeks/Fruit: 19/heirloom tomato (?)

Symptoms: pelvic pain still, which I know will only get worse

Appointments: anatomy scan this morning and it's another GIRL

Happy/Crappy: see above :) happy that everything looked good. This is the same MFM clinic that diagnosed DD#1s heart defect, brain cyst, IUGR, and oligo. Crappy that LO has a cold and terrible diaper rash and the poor girl can't sleep.

GTKY: We have to pick one favorite?! I like Reese's cups and Twix. We'll probably take DD ToT-ing around the loop and that's it.

    GAH, I'm so late today!

    Weeks/Fruit: 18 weeks/sweet potato

Symptoms: Still tired. Will this ever end??

    Appointments: A/S in two weeks!

Happy: DS has been all over me this week. I think it has to do with him being OOT with DH last weekend. He gives the best hugs and he gives the baby the best kisses!

Crappy: I can't lift DS as much as we both want that to happen. My back pain comes roaring back on days where I do so I'm trying not to pick him up BUT I WANT TO!

GTKY: I like all kinds of candy but this year we are stocking up on Smarties (American) and Dum Dums because they are top 8 allergen free and we are participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project even though we don't get many trick-or-treaters (everyone goes north from our block towards all the fun activities). We plan to dress up as a family and give out candy. Then we'll wander down to the street where everyone loses their mind with decorating their houses because I think DS will love all the lights. Afterwards, we'll go to the community bonfire and have some cider and donuts :). The week before Halloween, we are having a big get together with my son's former Bump group so that is very exciting (we've already met several times but this time it is in my area).
  • @vkrosa, so sorry about your stepfather. You'll be in my thoughts.
  • @SoSirius: That's awesome!!! DS is allergic to peanuts so I love the teal pumpkin project. We'll be doing that when we start passing out candy (which I guess probably won't be for some years!).

  • @SoSirius what is the teal pumpkin challenge? I think we are going to start having fake pumpkins now, just found out through allergic reaction DS is allergic to pumpkin :(
  • @AdventureMama, Wegman's had this handy chart: https://www.wegmans.com/pdf/halloweenAllergens.pdf.  Now I see Dum Dums have soy so we'll switch to Ring Pops. I have so many friends whose kids have allergies and this feels like such an easy thing to do.

@mamacastro, you place a teal pumpkin outside your house to let parents who have kids with allergies know that your house has safe treats for their kids. Technically it says non-food but I'm hoping avoiding the top allergens will be good because I feel like those kids miss out on the candy part. We actually did a Funkin from JoAnn's last year and the cool things is that you'll slowly collect all of these pumpkins each year until your house is the pumpkin hoarding house :)). The carving process was similar but obviously no gutting.

  • Thanks for the info @SoSirius
  • I totally forgot to post yesterday!

    Weeks/Fruit: 20/banana

Symptoms: swelling feet, sore back and hips, heartburn

Appointments: yesterday we had our A/S, everything looked great and the choroid plexus cyst was totally gone! Yay!!! She is healthy and growing perfectly!

Happy/Crappy: So happy about our healthy baby girl, not much is crappy this week. I have a massage scheduled for today, taking leave on Thursday, and a chili cook off on Friday.

Favorite Halloween Candy/Plans: Milky Way Midnight! I'm running a 10k in the am with some friends from work, but other than that I don't have any plans. We'll probably stay home and hand out candy, and watch scary movies.

  • Weeks/Fruit: 21/Pomegranate

Symptoms: Braxton hicks, baby kicks felt on the outside, stuffy nose, waking up a few times at night

Appointments: next check up in <2 weeks.

Happy/Crappy: baby kicks on the outside! Love these!! On the downside, I have had two pregnancy-induced panic attacks (one happened on our baby moon vacation and the hubs had to coax me to get on a plane). I have never had them before pregnancy, and they're pretty frightening. So I'll be starting hypno-birthing classes very soon. I'm terrified one might hit as I go into labor.

GTKY: Our neighborhood doesn't have many kiddos quite yet (more retirees right now), so we'll probably just hang out at home and go to bed at 9pm :)

For the holidays we will be traveling to visit the in-laws for thanksgiving this year (rather than Christmas) because I'm not sure how I'll feel come end of December. So excited for Christmas!! I don't want to know the gender of our LO, but my DH does want to know (and we didn't find out at the a/s). So my Xmas gift to the hubs is a chance to peek in the sealed envelope and find out what genitals this little babe is carrying. (I still don't want to know, but he can keep a secret better than the CIA).
  • @vkrosa I just read your post about your stepfather, I'm really sorry to hear that. Keeping your family in my thoughts.
    image
  • @vkrosa I've been thinking about you and your stepfather. We're going through similar with my mom right now and I am here if you need to talk. Not that I will know what to say. Pretty overwhelmed and lost.
  • Thank you ladies it's been a long road of struggle for him I hope that he can pass peacefully
  • @AdventureMama Happy Birthday!!! Sorry so late I just remembered. Hope you had a fantastic day :)

  • Weeks/Fruit: 21/pomegranate

Symptoms: none, really. Thank u to my mom for her pregnancy genes

Appointments: 21-week ultrasound last Thurs confirmed boy!! He's sooo active! Next appt end of Oct

Happy/Crappy: happy - getting lots of love from our cat who usually only loves my husband; crappy - broke a bone in my R foot a week ago - no surgery & not in pain but completely reliant on my DH for everything for the next 7 weeks - and baby shopping, etc is on hold

GTKY: candy- Those caramel apple suckers! Plans - hanging at home handing out candy

@brightonborn congrats on your baby boy! Sorry about your foot, that sucks. I had a stress fracture in mine last year and that was bad enough! Hope it heals super fast!
