anyone not have a single sign or symptom before going into labor?'

I was due the 25th, so only a couple days past due, but haven't had any signs that labor is coming. No Braxton hicks, no mucus plug, no bloody show or blood. I am worried that labor isn't going to happen in its own if I haven't had a single sign that labor is coming. The only sign I have had is some pressure when he was dropping lower the past few days.

Did anyone else go into labor without a single sign that it was coming? I know I am probably overthinking it, but just always reassuring to here other mamas experiences!

Re: anyone not have a single sign or symptom before going into labor?'

  • I didnt have any until my 39 week cervical check, labor came the next day. But I still only had slight bleeding from the cervical check, nothing else, so dont lose hope!!

  • Now my water broke prematurely, but I never had bloody show or saw my mucus plug. I mean I suppose they must've happened, but I never saw them! I did have Braxton hicks, but few and far between. Since my water broke early I had to stay in the hospital and I didn't even realize that I was in labor at first!
  • Me! I had nothing. Just woke one morning with contractions. Even in labor there was no blood until pushing.

  • I had no signs either. I was 10 days late so just be prepared to have a wee wait. Its all worth it though and those 10 days are a blur now xxx
  • I had BH for a couple months beforehand, but no other signs until my water broke. then I went into labor immediately.
  • Seeing this is reassuring! I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and have gotten a little discouraged since I haven't had any sign that labor is coming! I've had Braxton Hicks but I have been experiencing those since the end of the second trimester so I haven't really been considering those as a sign that labor is close. Happy to see that others didn't have any labor symptoms before they had their little ones! Hoping my little one could still arrive on time and without medical intervention!

  • I didn't have any signs. I worked all day, came home and cooked dinner, worked with my oldest on his spelling words. Sat down to watch Netflix and had my first contraction. Baby girl was here 2 hours later.
  • With both of my kids my water broke out of no where! With my son it was at 38 weeks and a massive flood. This time, with my daughter, it was at 40 +5 and was a slow leak. Both times were in the middle of the night, I was already 2-3cm dialiated but I wasn't having regular contractions or anything.
  • I had no mucus plug, bloody show or broken water, just started having contractions that I thought were BH until I realized I could time them (at exactly 40 weeks). Baby was born the next day.
  • Definitely reassuring! I haven't even had Braxton hicks (at least not that I know of). I had some pressure of him dropping last week but that is it, so I'm glad there isn't always a few days of clear cut signs of labor! Hoping little guy comes on his own soon!!
  • These posts were nice to read. My "symptoms" have been minimal and I was feeling a bit down with her "guess date" being tomorrow. I am just so excited to meet our baby...and I guess it is just a waiting game!

My water broke two weeks past my due date but the baby never dropped, or had my bloody show....Nothing. I also went in to labor naturally but then had to get induced because labor stopped.
  • With my first I had no signs.
  • It's not exactly what you've asked, but I've had every single sign under the sun since about 38-39 weeks pregnant and I'm still pregnant at 41 weeks! I've lost plug, had strong rounds of contractions that ended up fizzling out, have had loose stools for weeks, I've been 3cm and 90% effaced for 2 weeks. I've learned that our bodies are CRAZY and nothing is predictable in either direction :/. Just have to wait and be patient, which is pretty darn hard for me!
  • Nope! The only unusual things didn't seem like typical labour to me- I had bad stomach cramps about 2 days prior, and the night before my water broke he was moving a ton. It felt like he was jumping on a trampoline.

I second this! Totally me. 41 weeks tomorrow. Every sign except the most important: a baby!!!!
  • @Atlasmom and @els831 same here. Every sign in the book and 4cm and 80% effaced. Will be induced Wednesday at 41 weeks. Silly babies just like to stay comfy sometimes :)

I posted earlier about no symptoms but baby has been moving like CRAZY tonight - I'm 40 weeks tomorrow! I was about to post a thread to see if anyone else experienced this as a labor symptom! My baby has always been active but tonight has been hyperactive for about 1 1/2 hours straight! Hoping this could be the beginning! Baby is starting to calm down now but he's left me a bit crampy.

  • @courtneydeem I hope this is it for you! I had active nights definitely with him but that night was particularly forceful movements downward.
  • I had some BH throughout when I overdid things, but had no real signs that labor was coming on when I woke up at 39 weeks, day 4 with cramping/irregular contractions. I was scheduled for induction on 39 weeks, day 6. I went in and they decided no induction, broke my water, then I lost my mucus plug, and the show was on the road! I was shocked he came when he did because a few days before I was sad I hadn't had any indication he'd come!
