Post partum bleeding or period

I am 5 weeks post partum and some change. My bleeding tapered off in the fourth week. I still had some discharge but nothing you'd need a pad for. I had my pp check last Friday and was told I was good to go. Randomly Saturday I started having bright red bleeding! Not a huge a huge amount to where it's concerning but enough to make me wonder. Pp bleeding return or period return?

    I'm 5w pp and had a small amount of bright red blood start back up yesterday. Not a lot, but enough to notice. My pp bleeding never really went away like yours though, it's just been light pink.

    I started bleeding heavy 5 w pp. doc said it was likely still pp bleeding since I'm bf

    It is confusing, but once you actually get your period, you will know...trust me.

    I had LO iJuly 11th, and from that point on, I had PP bleeding every day until about the middle of Aug. Then there were times it would stop for a few days, start back up, stop, start. There would be a week that would go by, and then I thought- okay its over. Then I would bleed and think this is my actual period, but again, it stopped and started. Finally it stopped for over 2 weeks until 2 days ago when I started bleeding heavy. Very, heavy. It has been non stop heavy flow for 2 days, TMI- but I also have a lot of clots in it. But now I know for a fact this is my actual period. I have never bled so badly in my life. I have talked to a few girlfriends about it and they all said that yes, it is very bad when you get your first PP period. Ugh. I am now going on day 3 and I'm about ready to blow my head off. :( All I can say is, you will def. know when it's your actual period.

    I stopped bleeding at 5 weeks. A few days before 7 weeks I started bleeding again. It's heavy and red like a period. I don't have other period symptoms. After talking with friends, they've had similar occurrences. I'm EBF so chances of this being a period are slim. The midwife I see told my friend that it's normal and happens. She said its breakthrough bleeding or more blood Bc your uterus is shrinking.

    I'm EP'ing and stopped bleeding at around 3ish weeks. Bleeding never returned.

    This. For me, it also always feels like I'm a teenager again with the cramping pains..

    Right before hitting 6 weeks postpartum, I started bleeding heavy again, for 3 days now. It sucks, I stopped bleeding 3 weeks PP, but I did this with my first too. They said it was breakthrough bleeding with breastfeeding. Sucks. Majorly. Won't lie.

    This sounds like what im experiencing. It's bright red and has small clots. I am breast feeding, but I didn't know about 'break through' bleeding. The flow today got be more :-/. At least my now my doc cleared me to wear tampons
