Possibly twins and heavy spotting?

At my last ultrasound the nurse saw one sack with two eggs in it, so looks like possibly we're having identical twins! At the time they said I was possibly six weeks, but if it is twins they might be off because they could be just a bit smaller; we only saw one embryo and one heartbeat though and not sure if the other one isn't growing or if it was hiding behind the other one. I'm now about 8 weeks or so and for the past week have had some light brown spotting, but now in the last day or so it is gotten a bit heavier and is reddish and I have some mild cramping. Anyone who has had twins have this experience of heavy spotting? I'm trying to stay calm and tell myself that it's just my uterus trying to make room for these two babies... I have an OBGYN appointment in 2 weeks but appreciate your input!
