car seat question

I plan to call Chicco tomorrow and ask but I have been told and seen online that if your car seat doesn't recline enough because of the seat angle in your car that you can put either a rolled towel or piece of foam noodle under the base before you secure it. Anyone know if this is OK to do. TIA for any and all advice.

I would go to the fire dept and ask one of their car seat techs, that way they can see your actual car and car seat set-up.
