Baby Will born 8/18. He's perfect.
It really depends on whether you're pumping to replace baby's feeding from the breast or on top of it. I'm pumping after some of DDs feedings. I usually double pump for 10-15 minutes and get about 1.5-2 oz per breast. If your exclusively pumping I would think you'll probably need to pump for longer and you should expect more.
From what I've read, if you're trying to stimulate your supply you should pump for 5 minutes after your milk stops flowing.
I either pump for 10-15 minutes or until milk is no longer coming out. The amount is variable depending on time between feelings and time of day.
But don't let people's responses freak you out. You didn't say why you were asking but if you're pirmailry breastfeeding, the amount you pump does NOT reflect your supply and how much your baby is getting. Everyone responds differently to the pump- if you're not able to pump a lot, your supply may be fine and your body just isn't letting down. With my first I'd read these posts and drive myself crazy because I was never able to pump that much at a time and I worried there was something wrong with me. I then went on the pump/ nurse (since I was back at work) my son for 13 months. So don't beat yourself up if you're not getting big numbers.
@ctraci74 have you tried a hospital grade pump? That's how I started. Switched pumps and bam I pump for the recommended 30 minutes and it helped increase my supply. I also practice power pumping. Where I go 10 Min on and 10min off for an hour about two times a day. I also take motherslove more milk special blend. That helps increase your mammory gland tissue. Do you nurse her at all? That also helps increase my supply as well. Hope that helps.
If you're trying to increase your supply, I wouldn't skip that night feed. Long stretches at night signal to your body that the baby doesn't need as much.
I am formula feeding but trying to pump enough for 2 meals. Riley did not like being at the breast so I try to give her some thru pumping. My milk supply wasn't good so I tried blessed thistle and fenugreek which didn't work for me. I asked my dr for domperidone and that seems to be working enough for me to get approx 6-8 oz a day. I pump usually 3 -4 X a day so that's about 2 meals of breast milk she is getting. Figure if I can do a little it's better than none at all
Thanks everyone. I have to formula feed and give breast milk when ever I get enough. I pump every 3 hrs, skipping one feed g at night. But I barely get an oz no matter if I pump 20mins or 1 hr.

I have both hospital grade pump & one from my insurance, they both give same output. Just bought lactation cookies & mothers milk but was told it tastes like black licorice (yuck). So taking the tea back. LC wrote down fenugreek & blessed thistle so going to try those and power pump.
