Totally biffed it today

Don't know how I did it exactly but I basically tripped over a curb. Landed on my knees, my wrists and palms, then slid onto my right shoulder and smacked my chin on the concrete. Left knee is swollen, palms and wrists are sore, shoulder is scraped, and my chin has a concrete burn on it. Luckily I didn't land on my stomach and I didn't bust my chin open. And thank god no one saw it, I cried as it was knowing my husband saw it and panicked. I don't know what I would of done had others saw me. So now I'm nice and sore. I've done great this whole pregnancy keeping the clutz at bay... Clearly I failed at that this morning.

  • Sorry :( more scare than hurt, take care of yourself '

  • Ouch- all the way to the chin! Sounds like a good excuse to go back to the sofa and enjoy a quiet day.

If it makes you feel any better this would happen to me all the time when I was NOT pregnant... Now I'm overly cautious after a couple early trip-ups...

    Walking and thinking is hard.

I hope it heals up fast!
  • I tripped a few weeks ago in Jackson Square in New Orleans with fifty bazillion people around. And I was in a dress. So I feel your pain. Just limp it off :p
  • Oh maaaaann, I did this about 4 months pregnant doing a walk through at an apartment complex with my boss. Both him and the maintenance guy were watching. I ripped my pants, scraped my palms and bent 2 toes backwards all to save my belly.

Hope you recover fast! It totally sucks.

A few years ago I walked over a vent on the side walk near Burbon St and it blew air right up my skirt. I did not nearly as good as Marilyn Monroe but at least I wore cute underwear that day.

  • Hope you feel better soon :(

When I was stepping out of my husband's truck, I stepped right into the storm drain! There's no grate or anything and my right leg went all the way into it. It was pitch dark and it scared the crap out of me! Somehow I managed not to hit my belly. All I could think of was, something was going to grab my leg! I had a good 10 minute cry :(
  • There is no tomorrow if I don't trip at least once a day.

I tripped over my own toe a few days ago, smacked my forehead off the counter and landed on my knees , walked around with a red stripe across my forehead half the day.
  • We were parked on a side road and for some reason the curb was like a foot high. I completely ate it and ended up in between the curb and car. It killed my ankle but luckily didn't land on the bump. They say you're a little more clumsy around now because of the awkward center of gravity, so I feel your pain!
  • The struggle is definitely real. Sending empathy your way
  • I totally went and fell down the stairs, missed two days of work and was in labor and delievery for a few hours. I feel your pain
  • I hope you're all okay.

I totally fell over this morning chasing my daughter, in front of tons of kids and their mums at football/soccer practise . It was horrifying, it happened so slowly but I couldn't stop myself. I took the fall on my knee and my wrist and I've pulled a muscle in my back as I managed to twist my belly away from the floor in fear of wacking it! Called midwife straight away and she said as I didn't hit my belly and I'm not bleeding, cramping or losing water, and baby's moving fine, I should be ok to stay at home. But have to take it easy this weekend and track baby's movements. But fuck me, my back and my knee hurt. I'm waiting for my DH to come home tonight so I can just CRY! I was so embarrassed and my 4 year old son looked so worried, I had to brush it off quickly.

Anyone else feel like a complete idiot after?!? I'm so angry at myself and my body for betraying me!!! Need a cry and a hot bath

Yep, you're not alone. A few weeks ago - I totally missed a curb, ended up falling and taking the brunt on my knee and ankle- badly sprained ankle and had to use crutches for a few days, then an air cast and now still have to wrap it. Prego on crutches = not awesome. Plus I was in a dress, two guys saw it and one basically had to help me to my car. Ugh.

    Glad you're ok!!!

  • I was walking across my classroom the other day and I slipped on a plastic piece on a strap on a kid's bookbag. I went flying forward in that awkward loony tunes trying to catch myself at a 90 degree angle way and somehow didn't fall. The kids of course thought it was hilarious until they saw that I was upset, then they started throwing out gems like, the baby could have died, she could have miscarried!! I was done for the day after that.

  • I was at the zoo a few weeks ago with my best friend and her toddler, and managed to step backwards into a big fake rock by one of the enclosures. Lost my balance and luckily just sat down hard on the rock. Thank goodness there was something behind me, or I would have fallen hard! Everyone around me was worried, luckily mostly it was just my pride that was hurt (and my butt was a bit sore).
Hopefully you mend quickly, Mama, and thank goodness you managed to miss your belly!
  • The soreness finally went away!!!! Besides the scabs on my knee and chin I'm feeling so much better. I've been really monitoring how much he's been moving so and he's bouncing and doing his thing just like normal. Hopefully I don't have another clutz moment like that anytime soon
