I washaving indigestion and heartburn a lot. Drinking a lot ofwater spaced out throughout the day has helped. Smaller meals too! When the heartburn gets bad I just take a chewable tums.
I haven't had to move to Pepcid yet but that's what helped last time. Right now I'm popping the orange cream Tums but mostly because they are tasty. Smaller meals help. You may even have certain food triggers that you can avoid.
My doc told me to try Zantac 75 twice a day and it has been life changing in just a few days. I couldn't eat anything for weeks without horrific heartburn and indigestion and it's now clearing up so I can function again. Tums can supplement if any flares up even with the Zantac.
I've been getting bad stomach cramps almost every time I eat. It's not fatty stuff either. The other morning I had a hardboiled egg and a banana and I was doubled over in pain. It's been going on for 2 weeks. I spoke to the midwife about it. She wants me to try OTC meds and see if it helps and hey back to her. It's so weird though. It reminds me of the stomach pains I would get before I got my gallbladder taken out a couple years ago.
I haven't really had heart burn but definitely indigestion and diarrhea. I got really sick about a month ago and lost 8 lbs in 3 days, the diarrhea finally let up enough for me to gain some weight back, but I still have a few episodes a day since then. I'm seeing a GI Dr this Thursday about it. My first midwife wasn't concerned, then I switched and this one referred me to a GI. I haven't done much about it though, other than drink lots of water. Kinda hoping we find answers.
Yes I'm suffering too I been having the UK version of Tums that is Rennie but it won't let us I vomit after most meals. I feel the acid rising I'm tired of my midwife saying just take Gaviscone (calcium carbonate) honestly. The struggle is real I'm scared that come my 3rd trimester it gets worse
@Lola2o1 well, they did a rectal exam (so gross) and found blood. So she ordered a blood test and a stool sample. I just got a call with the results of my blood test and she said I had high white blood cells (which I guess just happens in pg) and high something else that could indicate infection. I still have to turn in the stool sample (dreading that one). But basically she thought I either had an infection or ulcerative colitis brought on by pregnancy. I know it's not an infection because I was just on antibiotics last week for something else, so if it was an infection, it would have gone away then. So if it is colitis, which she will know once I give her the stool sample, I need a colonoscopy @-)
I had indigestion. My doctor gave me miralax and colace to help with bowl movement. Also, I'm having a lot of oranges and naval orange everyday. They are great helping with bowl movement. Small meals every two hours. My doctor said you still want to eat frequently to stimulate your stomach and get it working.

Sorry to hear your having such problems. Hopefully they find out whats wrong so you can get treated properly.
I've been avoiding foods that trigger like i was drinking orange juice every morning and waking up in the middle of the night thirst for it. I've been feeling blah for the past week so I am trying to eat better. Although I just had a big bowl of turkey chili and added Frank's red hot sauce to it. Most likely a bad choice but it was good. Tums is what I have been taking.
