  It's 100% whatever you want to do. There's no right or wrong. With DD we waited until she was about 6 months before we had professional pics taken, but I took monthly pictures myself and did daily pictures with the Project365 app. I did Easter pictures myself, too. I have known people to do monthly professional pictures. Just do whatever you feel is right.

  I try to do something decent at 3/6/9/12 months, but I've always taken them myself even before I was a real photographer. Now I have a studio downstairs so I can take them more often. I just did some of her at 6 weeks since newborn photos were a bit of an ordeal to capture. I personally have never wanted to pay for photos that often so doing them myself was good enough. You can make enlargements with even cell phone pics these days. If we got family photos in there somewhere then getting some of the baby by itself was an option but that was all I actually wanted to pay money for.

  I was planning to do newborn, 3, 6, 9, and 12. But I have scheduled pumpkin patch pics, so I may use those (he'll be 2 months) and skip the 3 months pics to save money. I have Santa pics scheduled and he'll be almost 4 months for those. My photographer does lots of shoots like those throughout the year. Like with ducks and a bunny for Easter, sunflower pics in the summer, etc. For me it will depend on what I can afford at the time. I quit my job so my fun/disposable income has been reduced. I have a nice camera though, so I'll take some myself if I can't do professional ones. I take a monthly pic on my camera with a sticker shaped like a tie that I put on a onesie. I got the set on amazon. I really want my photographer to come to his first birthday party. I feel like that's a big deal that I want captured in an artistic way, as opposed to me just snapping random shots.

  We do professional newborn pictures and then 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 2 at someplace like JC Penney. Then pretty much yearly and special occasions after that. I take monthly pictures at home through the first year also and candid ones whenever of course.

  Just out of curiosity how many photos can you really get with a 2/3 month old? I was thinking about getting fall photos but he can't sit up yet or really "do" much so how many photos could you really get? I would love to see some examples!

  Whatever you want. But with our first we did newborn photos and then we do pro photos every spring. She also got her picture taken 2x a year at daycare, now 1x a year at school. For this one, we did newborn and we will likely do a family photo shoot in the spring as we've done every year.

  The photographer said she'll prop him up somehow and she said she had other ideas for him since he can't sit up. I'm really not sure, but excited to see!
