One of my favorite races is the first week of December, and I was thinking about running it this year, but I don't know if that is too aggressive. I am hoping it could give me some motivation to get moving again. I have been fairly active this pregnancy - I am walking/waddling at least a couple of miles a day plus other activities, but I gave up running a few months ago, because it was just too uncomfortable. I think I could get back to being able to run 3 slow miles straight in about 4 weeks as long as I keep walking in the first weeks postpartum. For the active mamas out there, do you think this is doable or would I just be wasting my money signing up?

Re: I am crazy to sign up for a 5k, 2 months after baby?
I'm not a runner at all, but I will say that increased activity can increase your post birth bleeding. Not to say you shouldn't do it, but be prepared with pads just in case. Of course you will know how your body is reacting as you get closer to the race. Good luck and have fun!

You never know how your body will react after birth.
After my son's birth in 2012, I've not been able to sneeze, jump, jog, etc. without peeing myself. I hope you don't get the SUI, that I have. After baby girl is born, I will be having my surgery for SUI 6wks later. Being an active person, SUI has been hard on me.
I can't wait to start jogging again. I'll be waiting until the new year to tackle that.
