kicking at 19 weeks?!

Y'all, I have felt her move 3 times. Each time it felt like something swishing or flipping in me. Tonight, I was laying with my hand on her, and I felt a bump from inside!! I figured it is too early, so I put a little pressure, and she kicked 4 more times! It felt like I was being thumped through a soft blanket! I know I'm not crazy!

Re: kicking at 19 weeks?!

  • You're not crazy! Lol. I started feeling flutters around 16 weeks with all my children. With this baby I started feeling really good kicks at 18 weeks. It's an amazing feeling.

  • 19 weeks and baby is definitely kicking. So cute even when it is basically kicking me as hard as it can in the bladder. ❤
  • I started feeling my baby girl at 17 weeks. FTM. Nothing is crazy in pregnancy. Everyone is different
  • I think 18 weeks is pretty normal to feel kicks.

  • Congrats on a healthy wiggly baby
  • Love it. I started being able to feel the movement from the inside At 17.5 weeks and on the outside at 18 or so weeks. It's tiny but wonderful.

  • I know, it's so exciting, right?! I'm feeling moves and kicks all the time now at just under 19 weeks. It really is just the most amazing sensation. Does anyone know when you can start to feel the kicks from the outside? I know everyone is very different, just curious about others' experience. I can't wait for DH to be able to feel the kicks with his hand. Right now it's all internal feeling.
  • I felt my baby kicking the other night in the bath and I was just 18 weeks. It's probably the coolest thing ever :) (FTM)
  • Isn't it the best feeling ever?? I am a STM at 18w and have been feeling things for about a week, and then my husband felt it a couple nights ago. It makes it all seem so real!
  • My hubby gets so excited every time he feels her kick it's so cute!! I was doing yoga this morning and after she kicked like crazy!

  • FTM at 21 weeks over here. I started feeling little flutters at about 17 weeks but now movements are starting to be very pronounced and DH has felt some :) The first he felt was last weekend, but last night he felt more for the first time since then and he was so excited! It was adorable seeing his reaction. It's such a weird feeling when baby moves sometimes, like my stomach is turning, but it's weird in such an awesome way!
  • Tiny little baby kicks!  One of the best feelings in the world :)

  • I am 19 weeks today and first pregnancy and I still dont feel anything! My gyno said 19-22 weeks but i dont want to wait any longer!!!! Why can't i still feel anything???? I had sono 3 weeks ago and all was well. I am so frustrated!
  • @Andra11743 don't be frustrated. I am 19 weeks today and I don't really feel external kicks. Just internal fluttering. Remember, the baby is still creating bone, so the kicks will become more and more pronounced. They also say it takes longer for first time moms like us to recognize the early flutterings. But when you get a chance, lie down still, and just calmly feel around your tummy. Your weight and location of the placenta (which acts like a cushion) will also affect you feeling the kicks. If the ultrasound says everything is fine, then find relief in that. It will come, those lovely jabs in the bladder!
  • I started feeling good outside kicks that my husband could feel perfectly at 19 weeks. But my baby boy is very active. Kicks all day.
  • I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow and i'm not feeling anything yet i'm hoping I have an anterior placenta otherwise i'm starting to get scared

I know it's hard but don't be scared! Everyone is so different. It will come.
  • I'm 20 weeks with an anterior placenta and i can sometimes feel some random kicks... maybe soon I'll feel them more and be able to recognize them more...

I am 20 weeks today and have felt her kick from the outside four times tonight. Of course now I'm just sitting here with my hand on my belly waiting for her to do it again. Such a neat feeling!!!!
  • Oof. I think I have a footballer in there. Getting some properly hard ones now.
  • I started feeling movement about 14/15 weeks. I'll be 19 Monday and I think my little boy wants to play soccer or something.

I have been dealing with almost the same thing. I can feel him kicking very occasionally and only very late at night when I am really still. It's because my placenta is positioned so it acts almost like a cushion. It's perfectly fine, just stinks not being able to feel as much as everyone else. She says I should feel more when I get to 24-25 weeks.
  • Im 19 weeks today last night i felt him move like kicking off the side of a swimming pool. :) i cant wait for kicks.

  • I'm 21 weeks and 3 days and still haven't felt kicks yet! Ahh... I do feel some movements in there though.
  • I felt my first kick around 18-20 weeks for the first time. Well more flutters than kicks. :). With this one, I started feeling flutters around 16 weeks and for the past 2 weeks, now 21 weeks, I can feel tons of movement and real kicks.

  • Congrats!
Mine start at 17 weeks, so definitely possible.
  • I thought I had felt a kick but my midwife said it was too high and must have been a muscle spasm or something :-/ I'm 18 weeks though and becoming impatient to feel the baby move!!!
  • Felt my very first one Friday at 18w5d while the ultrasound tech had the doppler on his feet. *boom* I've been feeling little thuds ever since, usually at night when I'm sitting reclined on the couch, but today I felt more while I was on my feet a lot. Pretty sweet, I'm a FTM and can't wait for DH to finally feel them as well!
