Have any of you experienced a chemical pregnancy before this BFP?   I experienced one last month, and It was devastating for me and DH. I know I am starting to have bad dreams and it consumes my thoughts that something is going to go wrong at my first appointment or before the 1st trimester is over. I know plenty of women go on to have successful pregnancies after CP's, but I am super nervous. I am seven weeks today, just trying to stay positive and it helps to hear from other ladies. Thanks.

Re: Chemical Pregnancy Before BFP

  • If you are 7 weeks, then there is no chance of a CP, just a missed miscarriage. I had a CP last November, because I got a BFP before my period, but still started on the day I was supposed to.

Yeah because of my CP last month, I am super nervous for a real m/c this time around.
  • I had one two years ago almost to this same day. This is our first pregnancy since then, not for lack of trying ;) I have been worried about every little pain and cramp. Even the boobs have been lessening in tenderness so that got me worrying too. I am 6 w 5 d today and am keeping my hopes up and planning for the best.
    We can do it!!!!!

Thank you for sharing with me. It is comforting. T&P to you.
  • I had a MC last year and I believe I had a chemical pregnancy following that due to positive HPT, but my Dr. said no because blood was negative.  However, I am petrified this pregnancy as well.  I already called my Dr. because of fluctuating symptoms.  I don't know if I will be able to relax this whole pregnancy, so you are not alone!
  • I had a chemical pregnancy after positive pregnancy tests around 4 weeks 5 days. That was devastating for me too. It also makes me worried this time around! Good luck to you!!
  • I had a chemical pregnancy the cycle before this one.  So far so good this time around! :)

  • In July I likely had a chemical pregnancy though the doc just called it a very early miscarriage. I was about 5 weeks when it happened. Because I never got AF, I'm likely either almost 7 weeks or almost 8 weeks. I did start breathing a little easier after I got passed the 5 (and 6 week mark since I don't know where I am), but I'm VERY VERY nervous for my first appointment next week. I'm so scared they're going to tell me something is wrong though I really have no reason to think that.

  • I had a chemical pregnancy in July so I'm also jumping at every little sign- and my hubby and I are going out of town for 4 and a half days starting tomorrow so now I'm terrified of something happening while we're away from my doctor. I'm no longer worried about this being a chemical pregnancy (I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow) but my brain keeps going to everything else that could go wrong, especially since we can't keep a secret and already told my family.
  • I had a chemical pregnancy the cycle before this pregnancy. I got a BFP (on a digital) and that night I started bleeding. I was 4 weeks. Obviously, it's not uncommon.

I am right there with you. I am terrified and nervous - and just like you said I really have no reason to think that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.
