Hi! I was OTF, my Ob said no more of OTF because it's so intense. But I was working out 5-6 days a week, usually that's OK to keep doing but she said that's too intense for now. Light to moderate exercise is best. I've gotten back into swimming, using the treadmill and other cardio, light weightlifting, yoga and just walking more. Ask your OB, make sure you tell him/her your average heart rate and 3-4 "typical" workouts. I've also been beyond exhausted too, I can't even imagine going to OTF, but I miss it. It's not forever!!! Best of luck!!!
Thanks! Yes, OB asked me to have them adjust my heart rate monitor so my max is 140. I'm ok 3 days a week but finding it to be increasingly more difficult. I'm also doing Pilates 1 day a week but super light weight. Trying to stick with it.
Yup, did it this morning. My OB said as long as I can talk while I workout then its fine. If I can't talk, I need to pull back. I am getting less time in the orange zone but still doing everything.
That's awesome @Snoflakes4eva ! I skipped this morning because I am just exhausted. I usually go at 5am and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep that up. I literally spend the remainder of the day feeling nauseous. I'm going to try 5 am again this week and if the same thing happens I'm going to try and switch to evening classes.
I found having them adjust the heart rate monitor has kept me in check.
I love having fellow OTF mom's on this board. There will be days like today I need support to keep my butt in shape!
I have been going to OT twice a week and am starting prenatal yoga once a week. My doctor just said to ease off the running for the first trimester and to not use any heavy weights. I'm lucky that my best friend and I go together an she is actually due with baby 2 in 6 weeks. This is my first pregnancy, so I just modify any ab work or back work that involves laying on my stomach the same way she does.
I am hoping to get back to light jogging once I round the second trimester corner, I hate power walking. As long as I listen to my body, I feel like I am doing better than sitting on the couch. Even if I am only burning 400 calories.
@emccooler 400 calories is great! I'm usually just under in the 375-390 range. That's awesome your friend still goes. I'm finding it more challenging right now because I get winded so quickly. I'm not doing heavy weights but I am doing an work. When I hit 12 weeks and and any exercises on the back will stop. I'm really hoping I stick with throughout the pregnancy. Being nauseous all day and night makes it tough some days.
