**PMS Symptoms or Pregnancy Symptoms**

Hello. I thought I was for sure pregnant because I missed my period for this month. AF was due Sept. 11th. Instead, I had spotting (very light, early, no cramps) Sept. 6th. I considered this to be implantation bleeding because it started 9 dpo. (I ovulated August the 28th, and had intercourse August 25th by the way) ANYWAY.... 9 dpo, I have this out of nowhere spotting that lasted BARELY for 3 days..... I took a dollar pregnancy test that Saturday evening...BFN. So it looks like that was AF due to the BFN. OK, I'm usually not fatigued and moody and craving weird foods and drinks AFTER my period....this was strange to me, so I took another pregnancy test a week later....BFN. But this time, I used FR that Saturday evening, again. (A week after my dollar test). According to my app, I should be 4 weeks by name. I decided to make an appointment with my OBGYN at this point for September 28th because that's the beginning of my "6th week". I read, hcg increases by the 5th week......so, you guessed it.... I took the 3rd pregnancy test, FR, and again.... BFN. BUT....I'm still fatigued, I'm still craving Whopper's, taco bell, chips, spinach dip, and sprite. Anything salty. I'm still having extreme mood swings and I've been bloated all month. I've been cramping all month since the spotting ended. Not the normal cramps....lighter, much lighter. And now, my breast are heavier. I don't know if I should rule this out as a scare and wait for AF to start or testing too early. I really don't know. Someone please help

Re: **PMS Symptoms or Pregnancy Symptoms**

  • It seems very unlikely that you're pregnant if you're still not turning a test positive. Something similar happened to a friend of mine last month (early spotting, cramping, feeling strange, AF was late) and it turned out to be a (harmless) cyst on her ovary that was causing at least most of these symptoms. Not saying that's what's happening to you, just that these symptoms don't always point to pregnancy.

Anyway, hopefully you'll get your answers at your OBGYN appt next week. Probably a wise choice to see the doctor if you're feeling off.

@SimplyP89 this is a board for women who already know they are pregnant and are due in May.

That being said, the only way to know for sure is to go to the doctor and get a blood test. Either way, you'll want to see a doctor, but if you're pregnant enough to have symptoms, your pregnancy test should have been positive.

    Edited for autocorrect error.
  • If your tests are negative, you are not pregnant.

  • If they were pregnancy symptoms you would be able to turn a test.

How do you know you ovulated? Were you temping? If not you could have ovulated later than normal and therefore you wouldn't be late yet. Normally I'd say test once a week until a BFP or AF. If you get to CD60 call your doctor. You already have so you will need to wait for that appointment.

  • I'm not sure how these posts end up on a birth month board.

  • @yogahh Agreed. The other night I thought I had accidentally clicked on the first trimester board and was sad to see that no, it was really my BMB.
  • @yogahh are you going to respond to the topic? Or are you here to nag?
  • @BuzzBee614 re-read the first complete sentence on my post. Thanks.
  • It's not nagging. It's frustrating to build a community and have tons of posts to scroll through by random drive bys that aren't going to stick around.

And yes, I did read your post. This board is for women that know they are pregnant and know they are due in May. Due to positive pregnancy tests. Yet I still offered you advice and was kind.

A missed period isn't necessarily a sign of pregnancy. More than likely it's a sign you ovulated later...

I was about to add some snark but I will refrain and gif instead.

  • BuzzBee614 I also think the drive-bys are getting ridiculous. I click on a post and invariably the OP has contributed nothing-nada-zero other than that single discussion post.

Agreed here on all acounts. This is a community for MAY MOMMA's. What is great is THE BUMP has boards and communities for everyone in different situations. Women need to do their research before quickly posting the first place they end up.
  • You had your period. If you were pregnant, a pregnancy test would be positive. You can be irregular for many reasons.

Please go to the TTGP board and read their guide to learn about your body.
