Loud click before a contraction in the bath, did my waters break?

ive been having strong contractions since yesterday ( I'm 40+2) and have just spent an hour in the bath. I had a few contractions whilst in there and found myself peeing a little with them. Then I heard a loud click which I THINK came from my stomach, which was followed by a very intense contraction. I've read you can hear a click before your waters break, so now I'm worried they broke in the bath and and that's what I thought was me peeing. now that I'm out the bath there is no sign of a leak. I've also read that you carry on leaking fluid once they've broken, so maybe I'm worrying about nothing. My contractions are too far apart and varied for me to worry about leaving for hospital yet otherwise. What are other people's experiences?

  • When my water broke, I would get a trickle with each contraction. With DS, it was just a pinhole leak, but I was still leaking consistently.

If you are concerned, please call your doc.

Yes, this. If you're not sure if they broke then you should definitely call your doctor. No one here will be able to tell you for sure if your waters broke or not.

  • Call your doctor.

I feel like a broken record today :)
  • When my water broke I continuously lost fluid. L&D or your Dr can do a ferning test to check for amniotic fluid (they did with me to confirm). Call your Dr.
