Transverse baby and scheduled c section?

Just wondering if any other mamas out there with transverse baby (back up so the Dr says worried about a cord prolapse) have Dr wanting to schedule a c section at 37 weeks? What are your experiences? I'm 35+4 days now. Trying to get her to move on her own! Thanks!

EDIT: He said he would try to manually move her first at 37 weeks, and if successful then induce me for fear of her moving back or if it doesn't work to go ahead and do the c section.

Re: Transverse baby and scheduled c section?

  • My first was breech and the plan war to turn him and then wait for labor to happen naturally up to 42w, but low fluid levels kept us from attempting the version @ 38w6d (we didn't know he was breech until 38w3d), so I ended up with a CS. I wouldn't feel comfortable delivering early if avoidable, but given the ECV stats I can certainly understand why you would want to. If the ECV didn't work I would wait as long as possible to have the CS to give LO as much time to cook as possible. May the odds be in your favor!
