Hi mommas, My LO is one week and we've noticed her skin was kind of peeling and looking dry around her armpit. Is she too young for baby lotion? Waiting on a response from my pedi too. Thanks!
The hospital put lotion on my LO before we left, so I'm pretty sure it's ok. Mine has been peeling all over his little body so I've put it on about every other to every third diaper change, and it has gotten lots better! Nurse did say to avoid putting on their hands, as they like to chew on them... Not that it's toxic, just tastes yucky
Our baby has only had two sponge baths, with a wipe, since birth because of being in the nursery and he's only one week old. I've noticed the dry skin too but have yet to use anything. I'm waiting until his first bath to use lotion. I don't think they're too young but I personally don't want to put anything on him unless absolutely necessary.
My baby was peeling really bad starting at a week old. My MIL gave her two baby massages with olive oil and now shes not peeling and her skin is so soft! I'm not sure if its recommended to do so, but shes old (70) and Syrian so they did things different. The only places she didnt put oil was the hands and face and now at 3 weeks those are still peeling
Same thing was happening to my LO. My doctor asked what baby wash I was using. I was using Johnson & Johnson and she told me that there are a lot better gental washed with moisturizer out there for babies. Now we use Aveeno and Johnson & Johnson lotion on her legs and hair only and no more dry skin!!!
I was told peeling is pretty par for the course. Baby has super mild peeling, just a couple flakes but her feet are still peeling a lot so we picked up baby Aveeno lotion to put on them
Re: Baby lotion
Your Syrian MIL must be on to something
