Re: Weekly check-in -- Sept 23

  • Hi, I'm Mia from Florida. We've been trying to conceive baby #1 for about 2 years. This cycle we saw a specialist and after all the preliminary test came back great we did Clomid and a trigger shot. Currently I'm in the 2 week wait. Went today for my progesterone test and will get a pregnancy test next Wednesday. We are very hopeful this will be it! I'm excited to join this group and wish all of those TTC the very best baby dust!

    2. TTC #1, not preventing since 11/12, actively trying since 8/14

    3. OPKs (Wondfo), temping, prenatals, evening primrose oil, CoQ10, probiotics, Vit D, fish oil, Myo-inositol, D-Chiro-Inositol, cayenne. Also some nasty herbal concoction twice a day from the acupuncturist. Still going strong with the no carb/no sweets diet and trying to do cardio exercise every other day...

    4. CD33 and 13DPO. I tested on 10, 11, and 12DPO and all were BFN's. Saving my money and not testing again, unless AF never shows...

    5. Blah. I'm so moody, crampy, and just want to cry :((  Actually, I have cried a bit already this morning. Poor H doesn't know what to do with me when I'm like this. It feels like AF is definitely coming. But my temps haven't dropped at all!! They usually fluctuate a lot but have been pretty steady between the 98.0 and 98.2 range. I guess this is a good sign - that my body is finally producing progesterone on its own. So I should celebrate that. But all I'm doing is planning my AF binge weekend - I'm thinking I'll just make myself an entire cake. Just for me. No sharing at all. Mmmmmm....cake....

I love all rollercoasters but haven't been on one in years! Waterparks are fun too!

    Good luck everyone!

    2. TTC #2, stopped breastfeeding 3/2014, AF returned 70+ long days later, tried a month on our own, returned to RE 7/2014, medicated cycles since.

    3. Trying naturally with all my usual supplements - Myo-inositol, CoQ10, PNV, Vit D, B-complex, probiotics plus better diet - more protein/vegs, less carbs/sugars.  Acupuncture, reiki, Mayan Abdominal Massage.  And also some nasty herbal concoction from my acupuncturist.  I wish it could be a pill.  BLECH!

    4. CD23, 5 DPO and I missed ovulation completely!!  My last natural cycle, I ovulated on day 28, so I wasn't being conscientious about taking my OPKs.  DAMN!  At least the short cycle means we'll have at least one more month to try on our own before IVF.

    5.  Disappointed and annoyed.  But less anxious.  We have our IVF consult today, so I'm looking forward to hearing what our protocol will be and what to expect.  I think it will help me feel more calm to know what and when to expect certain things.

Probably the watermark.  The older I get, the less I like scary rides.  :(

Sept will be our first month of consistently TTC #2

Just finished my cycle and will be testing to see when I am or will be ovulating

I have mixed feelings about this cycle

Since I am in the Midwest, the theme park I frequent is Worlds and Oceans of Fun. At Worlds, I like the Dragon water ride or the Orient Express. I like most of the rides at Ocean, no favorites. Now that my daughter is getting older, I am looking forward to going on some fun/exciting vacations around the US.
  • 1. redhead from MA

    2. TTC#1 actively since my wedding day, May 30 2015.

    3. This is my second cycle temping/charting, and my 5th overall. I've been adding in one thing per cycle. Last cycle it was temping. This cycle it was CM checking. Next cycle I'm going to do OPKs. I have things lined up for an RE consult if nothing takes this cycle or next.

    4. I'm in the TWW, currently DPO8. I will probably test on Friday, which is DPO10, and also my 38th birthday.

    5. I'm not feeling super-confident. We did our best with timing but it wasn't as good as I would have liked (-3, -2, +1 if my O date is correct). And I'm feeling a bit old for the first time in my life (birthdays have a way of doing that I guess).

QOTW: I'm definitely a rollercoaster fan, though I haven't been to a park in years. I love, love, love the adrenaline rush!

@emsmama15 good luck with your consult today! I hope you learn lots of great information!
@jilligan14 if AF shows her ugly face then you definitely get cake *hugs*

    2. Started TTC Dec 2013; 2nd cycle of TTC since my loss in July.

    3. OPK, Acupuncture, Vitamins (prenatals, CoQ10, Probiotics, Vitamin D, Iron) Herbs and 100mg Clomid. If no BFP by the end of the year we'll go back to the RE in January.

    4. CD3. Starting Clomid today

    5. As always cautiously hopeful... But it's very early this cycle. I'm still struggling with a lot of emotions about trying again.

QOTW: What is your favorite theme park ride/attraction? -  I'm not a huge theme park person but I loved rollercoasters as a kid. I don't know if it's age or what but my stomach can't handle them any more. So I'd have to go with Disneyland because there are a lot of rides that aren't crazy fast

    5. Our timing wasn't great: only -1 this month, because of house guests during my entire FW. Ah well. That day could still be enough . . . deep down, I'm hoping so, because I'm just so tired of this feeling of failure every month. Testing this weekend.

QOTW: What is your favorite theme park ride/attraction? I don't even remember the last time I was at a theme park. Probably a roller coaster of some kind.

@redheadbride15 - I hear ya, being on the feeling old wagon. There was a thread in TTGP yesterday where everyone said their age and location . . . lots of 20-somethings in that crowd. I can't imagine myself even contemplating kids at that age . . . but, that's just me :)

    Welcome to @slgill1978 and @mrzfrazier15!

  • @ladeuce13 Yeah that thread made me sad and I couldn't read it. So did the "what's your number" one where all the 22 year-olds were like "four!" and I'm sheepishly like "Shut up everyone. I'll just take one thank you very much". In my circle having kids in your 30s is the norm, but I guess it's not the same everywhere.

    4. CD1. Last cycle was very neat. I had a 14 day LP and now I'm having a mild period so I'm quite happy.

    5. I'm feeling positive and focusing on the health aspect of this journey. It's amazing how in just a handful of weeks my TCM/LAc was able to balance so many things within my body. I'm going to rely on this positive thought and simply move forward... at least it puts me in a good, trusting mood.

QOTW: My absolute favourite ride is the Toy Story ride inside California Adventure @ DisneyLand!!! OMG I would do that over and over all day every day! :)
Least favourite is the Tower of Terror, again inside California Adventure. I seriously almost died on it. To cheer me up my DH bought me the t-shirt. I'm wearing it now! The universe is funny :)

    4. CD 14.
We switched to injections this cycle for two reasons: faster growth and multiple follicles. Neither has happened! My dosage was upped yesterday morning to 150 p/day. I go back tomorrow am and they are hoping two other small follicles have made progress. (Right now I have a lead on my right side at 14).

    5. Hoping for IUI this weekend. REALLY trying to stay positive but it's so hard as I do t feel like my body is cooperating. Even if I only wind up having one follicle this cycle, trying to remind myself that it only takes one.

So, I am going to attempt temping and charting - so we'll see how that goes. Also, I'm going to try focusing on relaxing this cycle. Things are so stressful, I know it's affecting everything - so I'm going to try to focus on the positive and stay as calm as possible.

QOTW: Ooh, this is tough because, you see, I'm an absolute Disney fanatic! I love so many rides there, but if I had to pick one favorite ... probably the Haunted Mansion - it's been my favorite since I was a little kid. So excited to be going back there for our two year anniversary next month!

    5. I feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster (and no, it is most definitely not my favorite ride!). I went to the OB yesterday to follow up on a cyst and my ovary is back to normal and I've lost 10 lbs since my mc and all of that makes me feel really good. I also feel like I'm doing everything possible to prepare my body to conceive and want to be able to just let go of the anxiety, but it always seems to creep back in. Then, yesterday, out of the blue, my LO (who is 2.5) started asking where his little sister was. When I told him he didn't have one, he started begging for a sister. Heartbreaking. I'm doing more yoga and trying to be zen, but I clearly need to keep working on it.

QOTW: i've loved roller coasters since I was a little kid, but unfortunately my SO, who I've been with for almost 14 years, is not a fan, so it's been years since I've had the pleasure. I took a trip to Cedar Point in Ohio with college friends years ago and they have some of the most epic roller coasters. They certainly left an impression.

Yes, I think the rule of the universe is that when you have a super terrible cycle, the next one has to be better. I had a bad cycle last one, and this one I was blessed with a +OPK and some nice, high temps. I'm pretty sure I'm not pg, but this cycle was waaaaaaay better than the last one. It's part of the cosmic conundrum (#cc). So yes, I have a strong feeling that this cycle is going to treat you properly  :-*

    ttc #1 for a while

Just over a week since our FET. I have symptoms from the progesterone shots of course. I think based on timing of our last transfer when i got the short lived bfp i had more symptoms by now. So that is making me a little anxious, but at the same time not thinking about it too much since they are such a poor predictor of the outcome. So keeping my fingers crossed. Beta is on Tuesday.

Favorite rides are probably the water rides at disneyland and Star Tours. Also, really like those swings that just go around in a circle for some reason. @BulgariHeart -- i love Toy Story, too! have been in their early with no lines and just kept getting back on!

I just got back from my wonderful second Maya abdominal massage and today I also did the vaginal steam bath! I feel great and relaxed. She said everything felt a lot more open and related than last time, so the self massages I'm doing are working. She also told me how to do the vaginal steam at home so now I'm pondering if I should it.... Anyway, good times today!
