Is it safe to take Zantac for heart burn

Hi there!

I'm 9 weeks and am having horrible heart burn. I have a history of it but have been able to maintain it, but now it's back! I don't see my doctor for a while and am wondering if anyone else knows from a doctor if it's alright to take Zantac for heart burn?

    Call your office & they can give you the list of approved meds.

    My doctor ok'd 150mg daily Zantac for me. You need to get approval though. Some conditions make it not advisable.

    Agree to get advice from your doctor.  I have severe GERD and my doc okays my continued use of nexium.

    I take Zantac. It is on the approved list from my doctor.

    I've had severe heartburn/reflux since I was little (sorry about the colic mom!) and my OB ok'd daily Nexium but definitely check with yours.

    Yes. I received a list of medicines that are safe to take while pregnant and this was on the list.

    I got the okay for Nexium too but the doctor said if you're going to take it, you HAVE to take at least 1,000mg of Calcium with it. It depletes calcium in your body and, can result in depleting it from the baby.  Nexium is the only thing that has worked for me so I'm grateful to be able to take it but if you do, definitely ask about the Calcium.
