Are you looking for like cutesy girly suggestions or are you asking about food in general?
Most people I know serve foods that are family favorites or cultural foods. Like at my cousin's they served rice and peas, roast pork shoulder, salad, and then a cake later and some snacks. If you want cute things, chocolate covered pretzels are cute and white chocolate can be dyed for your color scheme. Fruit, petite fours are cute and girly. Mini cupcakes or if you are doing a character or theme, you can do themed foods. Pinterest can be really helpful for this.
It depends on your menu/theme. I think finger foods, small sandwiches, fruit salads, potato/pasta salad, snacks (chips and dip, pretzels) , desserts, cheese and crackers, veggie platters are all simple and easy to serve for a large group of people.

I think like others said it depends on what you have in mind. One of my cousins had sort of boxed lunches for hers where they did sandwich wraps and snacks in a pot and covered with tissue paper so it looked like a flower pot.
For less of a meal, I've always thought a pink tea would be adorable if you're having a girl. Just drinks and finger foods with as much as possible being pink. Pink lemonade, raspberry tea, petite fours, pink candies....
Another idea I've heard and liked is serving foods the mom-to-be has craved throughout the pregnancy.
Do you have a theme? That would help us narrow down suggestions.
For little girls, I've thrown a storybook theme for a friend, a giraffe/purple theme (my friend loved giraffes - go figure), a co-ed football party, a twinkle twinkle little star party, an English tea party, and a citrus/summery party so I have suggestions for all. Yes I've thrown a lot of showers.

In that case, mine would look something like this:
@ChiccoBeanz is right. Go to Pinterest. I didn't have an account and opened one at a co-workers suggestion for baby shower ideas and omg you will spend HOURS I tell you hours looking at stuff. It's like candy crush on crack. So baaaad yet soooo good.

Let's see, mine would be Cole slaw, zebra cakes, subway, pulled bbq sandwiches, chocolate cupcakes and ice cream.... Oh and nacho doritos and pizza and spaghetti and meatballs..... lol I'm sure it could get a bit crazy for most of us but I also think that's part of the fun.
I'm having a pumpkin/fall themed shower so one of the things we're doing is a make-your-own caramel apple bar
We're also doing pumpkin spice cupcakes, homemade spinach dip with bread and crackers, a veggie tray and then also some kind of cracker/cheese/meat tray.
I'm keeping my food fairly simple just because we're doing it from 1-3 p.m. so people will have already had lunch and then will have time to plan dinner after they leave.
I was never a huge breakfast fan but now that I am pregnant I am obsessed with all foods related. So I requested brunch foods and a donut bar (my guilty pleasure / craving). Here are some pics....
We are doing appetizers at my baby shower - avocado deviled eggs, fruit tray, chicken salad croissants, taco dip, and bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Then for dessert: oreo truffle balls & chocolate covered strawberries. All items chosen by me - I am SO excited. Give me all the fooooooooood! )
Mine will be an afternoon tea party, so different varieties of tea, some sort of alcoholic pink punch, tea sandwiches, scones, some sort of cake on a doily, macaroons, mini cupcakes, etc.
Also I have serious food issues, (Celiacs and allergies), so my dear friend who is hosting this event with me is trying hard to make sure I can eat things. My cousin has wanted nothing but Italian food the whole time she was pregnant, so her shower was trays of baked ziti.In my opinion it is all about giving the mama-to-be what she wants, and to me that is more important than fitting a theme. But I am not much a theme party gal, so to each her own.
Are you actually having a meal at your shower or snacks?
I have no idea what my mom is planning for mine (but guessing mini tuna sandwiches, cake, chips, pretzels--we keep things pretty simple) but if you want cutesy girl specific ideas:
1) Pink chocolate covered pretzels--some of the meltable chocolates you can buy at the grocery store are already colored for things like this, if not you could just get white chocolate ones and add some food coloring as it's melting. Super easy to make with a microwave and bag of pretzels and who doesn't like them?
2) Chocolate covered strawberries--staying with the pink theme. A little more expensive and slightly more difficult to make but they'll be gone in seconds...
3)... umm...I made myself hungry and apparently need to go buy some chocolate covered things... good luck!
My sister is making Madelines because we're naming her Matilynn. I thought that was cute, although not completely relevant to your question. I think we're doing all finger foods, fruit and veggie trays, popcorn, cookies, etc. Raspberry lemonade to drink. I have the best recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Perfect fall cookie. I'm going to bring a batch of those just so I can munch on them if nothing else sounds appetizing that day. Somehow these cookies are always appetizing.
My friend is hosting mine and she has 12 aunts and uncles. They love large gatherings and they love food. It sounds like they hijacked the menu and are doing a huge buffet. Which means I'll probably be stuck with taking all the food home lovely of them to do, but don't recommend. The two of us will toss 90%. Lol
Light finger foods, such as meat and cheese trays, fruit and veggie trays would work. Pretzels dipped in white chocolate dyed with pink food coloring would be cute.
Edited because I totally forgot to add suggestion the first time.
Re: Baby shower food ideas??
My mom is planning to have finger sandwiches and different sweets. It's simple and affordable.

But OP have we helped you out or is there something more specific that you are looking for?
