have any of you heard of the wonder weeks, the developmental leaps that babies are supposed to go through? There's a book and an app that outlines them. If you have, are the timelines accurate? Have you experienced any of the leaps?
It's supposed to be from their due date. I am not sure if it really is. Mine was super fussy the weekend before she was supposed to hit the wonder week. Idk how accurate it is.

This! I feel like my DD goes through the leaps a week before.

Mine was 11 days early. I put in her due date but I'm not convinced. I kid you not, Labor Day weekend about took me down with the fussy and crying. Then the next week she was better and we were in a wonder week
My son is a month old and should be going through his first leap, he is more clingy than usual and has actually been crying which he almost never does so i was attributing it to the wonder weeks but wasn't sure. He's my first child and i didn't know if I was just making myself crazy reading everything
We have been through one wonder week and started a couple days early but the behaviors she went through were spot on. Shes now more alert and focuses so much more.
We have the book and it was pretty accurate with my now 2.5 year old. Seems to be pretty accurate with this one too - leap 5 was on track. You do have to make sure you use the due date, and early on it is kinda hard to tell because there are so many growth spurts mixed in that screw it up. It becomes more obvious with later leaps.

Exact same here. She was born 1 day after her due date, but we are still about a little over a week ahead of the leaps. I googled it before and it said the leaps could be a week or two off.
Works really well for me, for DD1 and DD2. My husband had to remind me about the app though a few weeks ago DD2 was extremely fussy and he goes "Are you sure she isn't in a cloud week?" (From the symbol on the app) I thought it was really cute that he remembered - and he was right!
This might be a dumb question but why the importance of using the due date vs birthday? My LO was born 4 weeks early. Is it possible that he could have already gone through the first wonder week since he is technically almost 8 weeks old?
Umm I need this!! I needed this when I had my first.. But I was wondering why all of a sudden Olivia went from being my laid back kid to only wanting to be held or worn. I had a sparkler the first time and terrified it was beginning again lol

This is going through my mind right now!! Chilled out DS has turned into shitty grizzly grumpface all day long (aka his sister at this age). Please be a wonder week please be a wonder week please be a wonder week
I have both the book and the app. I think many babies are early or late with the Wonder Weeks but the symptoms are spot on! It's very reassuring to hear that what baby is doing is normal but it also reassures you when it says how you are feeling is normal too!
I used her due date at first and it didn't seem right. Changed it to her birth date (4-5 weeks earlier) and it's been pretty much spot on. The last two days she's been SO clingy and fussy, not like herself at all. Sure enough the app says she's in a leap and the symptoms describe her behavior exactly.
I'm glad I came on here and saw what the PP have said about it with the due date vs. the birthdate because I was just about to ask that. I bought the app yesterday and when I said Due date: I automatically just assumed they wanted the day he was born. But then as I thought about it, I thought maybe they actually wanted his due date. For me it would be pretty extreame because he was born July 11th, a whole month before his due date, which was Aug 11th. It seems to be pretty spot on with using his birthday but I just wanted to make sure I was using it correctly.
Thanks for everyone's responses. I have been over reading on parenting and newborns as this is my first one. It's hard to know what to go with when there's so much info!
Re: Wonder weeks
Edit:
NM I found it.
