Opinions on baby boy name

We are planning on naming our son Johnny Matthew. Johnny is my husband's brother's first name and their father's middle name - it is not a nickname, that is what is on their birth certificates. What do you think of the name? We want to call him Johnny no matter what, but do you think it is better to put Jonathan on his birth certificate?

I like Jonathan, but another option would be to put John on the birth certificate.

Well... think about it this way. He won't always be a cute adorable baby named Johnny, he'll be a grown man in a professional atmosphere named Johnny. Jonathan or John will allow him to have that separation of "I'm with friends and family" and "I have a 9:00 meeting."
