Opinions on baby boy name

We are planning on naming our son Johnny Matthew. Johnny is my husband's brother's first name and their father's middle name - it is not a nickname, that is what is on their birth certificates. What do you think of the name? We want to call him Johnny no matter what, but do you think it is better to put Johnny or Jonathan on his birth certificate?

I would do Jonathan, personally, on the birth certificate. That gives him another option. Depending on his future career choices, he may prefer to go by a more "professional" sounding version of his name at some point.
