I'm nervous about giving her medicine so young but I've heard all good things...just nervous on the dose bcoz it seems to be alot it's .9 twice a day she weighed in at 7lbs 14oz today when we went to be seen
I'm not sure about the dose. But my baby cousin had acid reflux and Zantac was a life saver for them. Like you I've heard plenty of positives about baby Zantac! I know it's hard to give baby medicine! I hate it. I just try to think of times I've been hurting, had heart burn, was nauseated, etc. I don't want baby to feel like that at all! Especially if there's something I can do to help!!
My LO is three weeks, 9lbs 15 oz and is on Zantac. Our dose is 1ml twice a day. I even called my pediatrician back after I got the prescription to double check the dosage and she confirmed that was correct. She has reflux pretty bad so we might have to look into something stronger but the Zantac is very popular and safe for them.
Thanks ladies! I've seen a difference just in the cereal added to her bottle less spit up after n actually got some sleep \:D/
This method isn't popular anymore but it's what I did with DD1 to avoid giving her medication and it worked like a charm. My pediatrician said it was fine
DD1 was on Zantac. It ended up not being enough and we had to switch to Prevacid (I think) which helped a ton. I know it's hard but it's so worth it when they can be settled enough to eat normally! Also, make sure they're taking the meds long enough before eating (half hour I think) because that will help too.
Re: 3weeks and prescribed zantac for reflux
