I'm generally not at all but I wonder if I should be while I'm preggers. A ton of my friends and coworkers have colds. They are all very considerate and try to avoid being in close contact with me. My instinct is to just not worry about it. I mean I won't drink after them or make out with them but what do you all think? I know this is a potential 1st tri question but I'm going to risk being flamed.
Re: Are you a germ-a-phobe?
In general I have become more careful around coworkers and kids but nothing too crazy. Although I was being careful before I was pregnant too...
My one coworker always seems to have pink eye, I keep telling him to stay away!

Yuk! Tell him to stay home. That's where I draw the line.
I am generally a germ-a-phobe. Now that I'm pregnant I find myself getting absolutely ticked off everytime someone sick comes my way.
On Christmas Eve my cousin's MIL walked up to congratulate me and warned me she wasn't going to kiss me b/c she had a "very bad cold" but she then reached out and touched my hand and my belly. I couldn't get to the soap fast enough. I spent the rest of the night freaking out about it. It still ticks me off. Ditto with sick people at work.
Being sick is miserable and I think it's normal to be this paranoid when you can only have Tylenol.
Yes and no. I don't carry wipes in my purse or use hand sanitizer, and I don't plan to sanitize my kids' hands, either.
I do, however, have some issues with some baby items that are used and made of something porous. Plasitc is easy enough to wash, but mainly anything fabric and used gorsses me out a little because I know what babies do.... I don't want another baby's fecal matter on my baby's clothes. Eew. I just don't feel like they get clean. From friends and family is fine, but from strangers gorsses me out.
As far as cold germs go, I'm a little worried, too, because almost everyone in my office is sick or has recently been sick. I've been taking my Flinstones with Immunity Boosters, drinking lots of water, and resting when I need it. I'm not going to go overboard, but there are those few little things you can do.
Good luck!
