How do you determine how many dpo you are?

Silly question- but how do you figure it out? Trying to figure when I can test at home- this two week window is killing me!
I had my trigger shot on Sept 12 and IUIs on the 13 and 14th... Not sure why I'm making this so complicated. I go for HCG bloodwork on the 28th- 1 week from today.

    36 hours after trigger for most people. I'd count the 14th as O day.
    TTC #1 since May 2014
    3 failed IUI cycles
    Oct '15 - IVF 1 - 10R, 3M, 0F
    Sept '16 - IVF - 12R, 11M, 5F and 3 perfect day 5 blasts - MMC 7w5d
    Jan '17 - FET 1 - BFP, EDD 10/14

    I had my beta scheduled exactly two weeks after trigger (that was a Monday). I started getting positives from the Friday before. I was really bad with the POAS.

    I always counted the day of my iui as my ovulation day.

    I took a test today- big fat negative!! I know I'm early- will test again this weekend. The wait is the worst!!
