@ChristinaAnneW SO jealous that you slept that well last night! Last night was apparently the first night that my body decided I can no longer sleep on my back...I've been falling asleep on my side and waking up on my back recently, but last night I kept waking up on my back having trouble breathing. And then, once I was awake, of course I needed to go pee! I need to resolve this quickly, because I will NOT be able to function at school if this keeps up!
@CaraBoonie this was actually the first time I have slept like this in months. I was so tired that when I woke up with leg cramps I couldn't even get myself to attempt to resolve them. Maybe you will crash tonight or at least get s good nap in!
Lucky ladies!! We've been back for a month now. I teach kindergarten and I'm tired all of the time. I'm due jan 4 and plan on staying out for 12 weeks. It puts me right before spring break. Our district has a big push for reading in K so I'm working my butt off trying to move my kids as much as possible in the next few months and pick it back up in March. I'm the team leader for K so I do a lot of running around for the team. I'm wiped at the end of the day and my poor 3 yr old is just along for the ride. Lol
I wish I had an assistant. Just me and 18 Ks. They're pretty sweet about the baby and luckily they're a gentle and calm. They love when I'm on the floor with them but understand when I can't be. "Don't squish the baby!" Is what I hear a lot.

Finally told my 4th graders that I'm pregnant today! They lit up and had so many questions...and then I got my first unwelcome belly touch...but it was by a 9 year old girl, so I couldn't get TOO mad...I instinctively grabbed her hand away, and then I felt badly about it and just explained to her that you have to ask before touching other people in general. Another girl was seriously pissed at me that I didn't tell her sooner when she learned that I've known for months and didn't just find out yesterday, haha.
@Caraboonie, Maybe you won't get this because you are with a little bit older kids, although mine are 3rd graders and I get this all of the time, but wait until you get name suggestions. I work in an inner city school, so the name's I've gotten are as follows; Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Jordan Michael, Mickey Mouse, Sha'Mar (after one of my students), and even kids asking me if they can give me last name suggestions. Oh, and I got Firefighter too, because one of my girls just LOVES fire trucks. =P I actually invite the kids to give me a name suggestion, because it makes me laugh and they are so darn cute about it.
@teachmegs817 Haha, I WISH! They were given 5 minutes to ask questions after I announced it to them, and one of the questions was if she already had a name, and I said she did, so no suggestions were given, alas! I told them her name was Maya, and they all said "Like in Girl Meets World!" and I had to explain to the other adults in the room that they made a reboot of Boy Meets World with Corey and Topanga's daughter and her best friend is named Maya (I MAY have watched the show...after already having my baby name picked out though)...meanwhile the adults were all thinking more like Maya Angelou, big difference, haha.
Several DID ask if I'd bring her to school and if they could also bring their younger siblings for a playdate. I just said "We'll see" because let's be honest, I am not dragging my butt out of bed in the dead of winter just to show them my baby, I'll send them a picture
For those of you returning after April break, are you sending your child to daycare for the 8ish weeks until school ends for the summer? We are weighing our options - considering trying to find care between my husband and family members for those 8 weeks. We'll see. I'd prefer not to start daycare until September 2016.
@kimber308 we're also weighing our options. As of right now, my parents watch my 9 month old while we work. But asking my parents to abandon their retirement to watch, not just one, but two babies 13 months apart come January while we work seems a bit much. The hope is that I'll be able to quit my job at that point, but we have to wait and see how my boyfriend's new job pans out first... I hate being in limbo.
@kimber308 we are still weighing our options. DD is in day care but will be pulled out once LO is born. We'll probably send them both to daycare for 9 weeks until the school year ends. DH is planning on becoming a stay at home dad in the Fall. Depending on finances he might quit work when I head back then get summer job while I'm off.
@kimber308, we are hopefully going to have my aunt watch him when I go back to work for the 8 weeks and then start him in daycare when I go back in September. She hasn't quite decided for sure if she will watch him yet, so we are starting to look at/consider back up options. My sister in law is considering taking on a few new kids to watch and I may end up asking her, if it falls through with my aunt. I also feel bad, because I go into work at 7:30 and DH does too. We both don't get out until 4:30, so for someone to watch the baby from 7:30-5:00 is going to make for a long day.
