Faith and TTC

i may get flamed for this but that's okay.

I am curious if anyone uses or has used God and faith as part of their consideration for when to TTC. I consider myself both spiritual and religious and am interested to hear about others' experiences.

I apologize for the awkward wording -- it's been a long day. Love and hearts.

  • Agreed with PP, I'm not positive about your specific question. But I am a Christian and I do believe God's timing will be perfect and that I cannot plan things myself! Which is hard to accept when you are a type A planner like myself :) I don't really believe if I pray harder or am a "better christian" that I will get pregnant, I try to steer clear of those sorts of thoughts and just pray for myself and DH to go with the flow as much as possible!
  • I completely forgot that I posted this. Thanks for responding @ashpat0525 and @lysta85. Disregard this post lol

  • I am not a religious or spiritual person and withh this struggle I feel faith may comfort me.
There's no acceptable reason why some good and deserving women can't have babies meanwhile crack whores have several welfare babies.

Whoa. I wish you the best with TTC but hold your judgement please. Nobody else's fertility has any bearing on yours, and using welfare/SNAP helps many good people to get on their feet after bad luck or a hard start in life. Childbearing should not be restricted to the wealthy.
  • @Xstatic3333 sorry you were offended but you misunderstood what I wrote . I write about women who have babies they don't want and can't afford. As a woman who wants a child this is sad and frustrating to see. Benefits do help many while they're abused by many others.

I do empathize and hope things get better for you, but I wish you'd phrased it this way the first time. The terms you used are mostly just horrible stereotypes, and you never know whether a child is truly "wanted" unless you are the mother. It's not that I'm offended so much as I think these misconceptions are really harmful.

That aside, wishing you peace in your TTC journey.
  • Hm, this turned interesting...

  •  relying on God is a great way if you both agree!,,, in my opinion. and you might have 11 kids. i actually want to try for a baby & this is part of my wonder/wish: leave it up to God....but then we still would have to bang,,,while I ovulate,,,and we both have to "know" what we are doing,,,,, so i would love a God sent understanding, but that is truly hard to define & impossible to ask a giant child-bearing or hoping to bear children website to clarify i think....  I also feel sad when i see children in abusive situation or "unwanted' while i watch my bff struggle with infertility.

I feel like all my kids were GOD SENT &&& so was my husband, so was my mom, etc...
