I'm trying to limit my dairy intake. I don't think DD has a full blown allergy, but I have noticed that she is more irritable and spits up more if I have a lot of dairy. Bye, bye ice cream

Anyone have any good low-dairy dinner recipes? Preferably easy ones! I'm now realizing that apparently I don't cook anything without lots of cheese!

We often grill tuna steaks with a mango avocado salsa. The salsa is a diced mango, diced avocado, half a small red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, and lime. It's just dicing and mixing, so not too complicated! The salsa is also great over chicken if you're not into tuna. I usually serve it with white rice mixed with a little cilantro and lime - the whole thing is dairy free.
We also do pork loin with a cherry reduction. The reduction takes a bit of time though - I haven't made it since LO's arrival. The reduction is a bag of dried cherries, a small bottle of cherry Pom, a diced shallot, and a diced habanero. You just put it in a saucepan and let it reduce, but you have to keep an eye on it. Then serve with one of those pre-marinated pork loins that you cook in the oven. I usually serve with wild rice, and it's always a hit!
Chili would also be dairy free if you don't use sour cream or cheese as garnishes. It's also nice because you can do it in a crock pot when you have time and it's ready to eat when you are! I would think there are a lot of options for stews and soups that are dairy free.
Any grilled meat plus veggie dinner would be dairy free though! Tonight DH grilled steaks. zucchini, and red belk peppers, and I made roasted red potatoes with olive oil and dill. Also dairy free!
Anyways try the website go dairy free.com a great resourse and dont forget there are many dairy free alternatives that are good- coconut milk icecream, soya based pudding and diya brand cheese that are yummy.
Simple things are spaghetti (though some sauces have cheese in them so check the label), italian beef sandwiches with peppers/onions/mushrooms, salisbury steak, baked chicken, vegetable beef soup, chicken noodle soup, sauteed shrimp with noodles/veggies
I use a butter alternative and have coconut and almond milk ice creams that are actually really good (even ice cream sandwiches). There is a dairy free chocolate brand (Enjoy something or other) that is really quite delicious in lactation cookies. Some brownie mixes don't have dairy. Oreos. godairyfree.com has been great for finding options when eating out.
