Textured baby food?

Our baby has a couple of teeth (finally) but they aren't completely in yet. I'm trying textured baby food, but she doesn't like it. She chokes on the chunks or if she can spit them out she will. How long will it take before she can take textures? And I'm thinking I should just make that stuff myself, so if any of you know of a good website/book I can use to make some 3rd stage baby food, I'd appreciate it. TIA

    I think it's really dependent on the baby, just keep trying bits here and there. I introduced chunkier food a little earlier, he now happily munches on most things I give him. I just eyeball him closely to make sure he doesn't choke. He still doesn't have any teeth, but he does fine.
